YouTube Growth Strategist & Consultant

About the Channel

We produce a tech/founder interview show and want aggressive YouTube growth in 2026. We already have strong production and post-production (long-form episodes, shorts, SEO clips, thumbnails, show notes). We’re looking for a modern YouTube growth consultant to own the growth system end-to-end: ideas → packaging → retention → distribution → testing.

What you’ll own

Programming & Content Strategy

• Build a repeatable content framework (series, formats, guest/topic angles)

• Turn interviews into “episodes people must click” (clear promise + tension + payoff)

• Create a 6–12 week content calendar based on audience demand and performance data

Packaging (CTR)

• Title systems: 5–10 strong options per episode with clear intent

• Thumbnail strategy: direction, creative briefs, A/B testing ideas

• Run a packaging testing cadence and report learnings weekly

Retention (Watch Time)

• First 30–90 seconds: hook/cold open strategy + restructure guidance

• Notes to the editor on pacing, pattern interrupts, and segments

• Improve audience retention and session time over time

Distribution + Collaboration

• Guest share system (kits + follow-up process)

• Cross-platform plan (LinkedIn + newsletter + community)

• Identify collabs/partner opportunities that create spikes

Paid Growth (Optional but a plus)

• Recommend and oversee YouTube promotions/ads to accelerate learnings & growth

• Develop test plans and scale when performance proves out

What success looks like

• CTR improvement on core uploads (packaging wins)

• Retention improvement in first 30–60 seconds (hook wins)

• Watch time growth month over month

• Consistent view velocity (more “hits” and fewer duds)

• Clear weekly strategy with measurable experiments and learnings

Requirements (non-negotiable)

• You have proof you’ve grown at least 1–2 channels from near-zero (sub 5K subs) to meaningful scale (ex: 50K–200K+) with documented metrics

• You can explain growth in terms of CTR, retention, watch time, returning viewers

• You can deliver concrete strategy docs and creative direction (not vague advice)

• You communicate clearly and move fast

Nice to have

• Experience with tech/business/interview formats

• YouTube ads experience

• Thumbnail/title creative direction experience
