We are seeking an experienced, passionate Technology Communications Analyst to join the Corporate Communications team based in New York to focus on Technology and Operations communications. The position supports global external and internal communications development and execution for the Technology and Operations division as well as Innovation, Corporate Services and the Firm's Global Centers. This role is critical in shaping and upholding the perception of Morgan Stanley Technology and Operations among key stakeholders around the globe including clients, investors, vendors and talent.
This role plays a vital part in executing on the Technology narrative and sharing it with key audiences. It is an excellent opportunity to develop public relations and corporate communications skills as part of a fast-paced, high-performing and high-impact team on the cutting edge of technology in financial services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Technology and Operations divisions as well as Corporate Communications, Marketing and Digital Strategy to facilitate a comprehensive communications program that promotes Morgan Stanley's leadership in technology and builds its reputation as workplace of choice for technologists.
- Leverage technology news, events, success stories and initiatives to tell the Morgan Stanley innovation story and showcase the Firm's world class technology talent, generating coverage across traditional, social and digital media channels.
- Partner with colleagues in Technology and Operations to amplify news coverage and showcase technology internally via the corporate intranet, newsletter and events.
- Develop content for global and regional initiatives across traditional, social and digital media, providing strategic and project management support as well as editorial guidance, material review, speaker training, etc.
- Manage corporate communications review and support of the Technology External Speaking program in partnership with colleagues in Technology, Legal and Compliance, Marketing, Digital Strategy and other stakeholders.
- Work with the Technology and Operations project leads to support employer of choice programming and giving back initiatives including programs such as hackathons, educational events, training the next generation of technologists and tech support for nonprofits.
- Build recognition and awareness of the Firm's Global Centers, both internally and externally
- Partner with the Corporate Services division on communications spanning global real estate, workplace amenities and infrastructure, both internally and externally.
Other Responsibilities
- Organize comprehensive communications materials including reporter briefing documents, press clip reports for senior management, media lists and monthly metrics reports.
- Monitor traditional and social media, escalating news as necessary.
- Assist in scheduling interviews and execute additional administrative duties concerning interviews with the press.
- Work with design team to create and proof images for social, earned and owned media activations.
- Other media relations and corporate communications generalist activities as necessary across the broader Corporate Communications department. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record
- 2+ years professional experience, preferably for a leading financial services firm, agency or technology company
- Experience with PR/media relations and digital communications across technology, business, and consumer publications. Experience in Technology PR/Communications for an agency a plus.
- Understanding of technology topics, trends and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with media outlets, blogs, industry groups and influencers that focus on technology, the technology industry and technology talent, as well as a track record of securing coverage in this area across industry, business, national, broadcast and digital media.
- Excellent writer with proven ability to distill highly complex topics into messaging digestible for a wide range of audiences.
- Outstanding communications skills and experience in providing effective editorial and messaging guidance.
- Strong track record of producing effective written, audio and visual content for digital and social media channels.
- Self-confident and proactive candidate who can work both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing and sometimes ambiguous environment with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
- Effective in partnering globally, cross-functionally and with colleagues of all experience levels.
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables.
- Microsoft Office proficient (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $75,000 and $95,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
