Position Overview
The Mental Performance Consultant – Sport will provide performance psychology services to a variety of clients in sport, with opportunities ranging from junior level athletes to elite collegiate and professionals athletes to coaches and university athletic departments. This position is designed for an individual who is interested in collaborating as a member of an innovative performance psychology team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Provide mental performance coaching to individual athletes, primarily at the junior and collegiate levels
· Provide group athlete and team trainings (live and virtual) focused on various performance psychology topics
· Contribute to ongoing team projects, through research, content creation, presentation development, etc.
· Contribute to “The Growth Project” podcast, as well as newsletter, marketing, and social media materials.
· Stay updated with latest research and advancements in performance psychology evidenced-based practices
· Other duties as assigned
Required qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities:
· Master’s degree in Sport/Performance Psychology, or related field
· Experience working with athletes of various ages and competitive levels
· Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to provide high-level training and to develop relationships with key stakeholders
· Domestic travel required for client service fulfillment
Preferred qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities:
· Doctoral degree in Sport/Performance Psychology, or related field
· 3-5 years of experience and the ability to work with coaches and professional athletes
