About Moonshots Capital
Moonshots Capital makes late seed stage investments in technology startups led by exceptional founders. We bring a disciplined approach to the investment process to identify companies with “moonshot” potential.
Our investment thesis is simple: leadership is the most critical factor in determining the success of a venture. Kelly Perdew and Craig Cummings, both West Point graduates and former Army Officers, are the founding partners of the firm.
We’re hiring a Head of Platform & Content to further develop the editorial engine behind our brand and lead our AI-first, lightweight, high-impact platform for our founders. This is a unique opportunity to shape the voice, infrastructure, and community impact of Moonshots as we continue to scale.
Role Overview
This is a blended role - platform + events + editorial + research. You’ll lead our annual LP Summit; drive daily social, the monthly newsletter, and web updates; assist with quarterly reporting; and craft investment theses for new investments.
You will oversee the implementation of our portfolio support engine - ensuring founders can quickly access Moonshots’ network, resources, and playbooks.
And critically, you’ll be expected to architect and implement AI-driven workflows across every aspect of your remit: content creation, distribution, reporting, research, and community support.
What Success Looks Like
- Portfolio Support: A responsive and organized intake, routing, and tracking system with measurable outcomes for founder engagement.
- Thought Leadership: Theses, quarterly letters, and platform content that sharpen Moonshots’ POV and elevate our brand with founders, LPs, and partners.
- Content Rhythm: A dependable publishing cadence (daily social presence; monthly newsletter; timely web updates) that grows reach, trust, and engagement.
- Events: Our LP Summit and other gatherings executed flawlessly - on plan, on budget, with strong attendee satisfaction and post-event follow-through.
- AI-First Processes: Clear evidence that workflows (content, research, reporting, support) are faster, smarter, and more effective because of AI integration.
Qualifications
- AI Execution: Demonstrated success evaluating and implementing AI tools (e.g., LLM-based content generation, CRM automations, workflow orchestration) with measurable business impact.
- Experience: 5–10 years in B2B content/marketing, editorial/comms, startup ops, or VC platform. (Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered if they show outsized impact.)
- Critical Thinking & Writing: Able to turn complex research into crisp, founder-useful content and articulate clear recommendations to partners and LPs.
- Leadership & Ownership: Comfortable leading programs, influencing without authority, and guiding vendors, portfolio founders, and internal stakeholders.
- Program Builder: Strong project/vendor management skills; thrives in event planning, reporting cycles, and platform design.
- High EQ: Service-oriented and adaptable; thrives in a fast, partner-driven environment.
- Tools: Familiarity with CRM, CMS, newsletter platforms, social schedulers, Canva/Adobe (or similar).
- Nice to have: Exposure to dual-use/defense and AI ecosystems; financial literacy around startup metrics and fundraising.
