Marketing & Events Intern – Spring 2026
Do you love storytelling, social media, and exploring what makes a city shine? Are you passionate about Downtown Orlando and the organizations that fuel its momentum? If so, the Downtown Orlando Partnership (DOP) wants you on our team!
DOP is seeking a Marketing & Events Intern for the Spring 2026 semester to support communications and event efforts for our 285+ member organizations and the downtown community.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with drafting and scheduling social media content across DOP’s platforms
- Capture and organize photos and short videos at events and member locations
- Draft simple caption options for social posts before routing for approval
- Support creation of basic graphics or templates in Canva (event promos, welcome posts, etc.)
- Help monitor social media tags and engagement opportunities with DOP members
- Support weekly newsletter creation by gathering member and community updates
- Help organize digital media (Google Drive asset management, folder cleanup, tagging)
- Research potential marketing collaborations or influencer accounts to engage with
- Assist with event preparation
- Provide on-site support at DOP programs and events (setup, check-in, content capture, etc.)
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for marketing campaigns and community storytelling
- Audit DOP’s social media and membership platforms
Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in Social Media Management (preferred).
- Is passionate about staying connected to Downtown Orlando news and chatter.
- Must be a self-starter with an eagerness to learn and contribute to a nonprofit organization.
- Has the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong written communication skills with a keen sense for grammar and spelling. *MUST include a cover letter with application.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other marketing programs such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe products, MailChimp, and Meta.
- Must be a minimum college junior or senior, pursuing a degree in Marketing Communications, or a related field is a plus but not required.
- Must be available to work in-person on site for a minimum of 5 hours per week over a period of 10 weeks.

Schedule:
Minimum 5 hour in-person workday per week over a period of 10 weeks. Ability to choose your schedule (within DOP’s 9am-5pm Mon-Fri business hours).
