Typical Day in the Role:
- Purpose of the Team: This team manages site-wide events and oversees the annual budget for the Austin location while supporting overall site operations.
- Key Projects: Contribute to planning and executing onsite and offsite events, managing community engagement, and handling the annual budget for the engineering organization in Austin.

Reporting directly to the Site Engineering Lead, the Events Coordinator collaborates with local site teams, human resources, recruiting, finance, communications, corporate and legal affairs, and others to deliver programs that:
- Engage the region's ecosystems of STEM students, universities, and tech communities as well as customers and partners.
- Positively impact our engineering and research employee experience.
- Encourage the sharing of best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities
- Support the Engineering Site Leader in maintaining a rhythm of the business that drives execution of core business priorities and encourages best practice sharing among sites.
- Support and participate in strategic initiatives or cross-group projects contributing to the overall strategy. Create and implement accurate plans. Develop successful metrics and communication approaches for these initiatives and projects.
- Partner with corporate communications and local teams to deliver on internal and external communication strategies that reinforce values, brand, and presence in the community.
- Partner with leaders, HR, and D&I champions to shape and influence a positive, inclusive, and innovative culture at our engineering sites.
- Deliver on programs in support of strategic initiatives or cross-group projects contributing to the overall strategy for engaging communities and ecosystems in the region. Track and communicate progress against success metrics.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to deliver programming that shapes a positive, inclusive, and innovative culture at our engineering sites.
- Maintain relationships with peers outside the team to ensure strong cross-group collaboration.
- Partner with the Finance team and business program managers to support financial planning and budgeting. Participate in expense reporting, budget tracking, and reconciliation activities as needed.
- Plan and execute meetings, events, and partnerships both internally and externally with partners.
- Continuously look for ways to simplify and drive process improvements and efficiencies.
- Exercise sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in communicating information and working with all levels of employees.
- Delivery of core business priorities and strategic initiatives, as defined by the site leader and business operations team.
- Implementation and tracking of success metrics for events, programs, and cross-group collaboration (e.g., number of events delivered, engagement levels, budget adherence).
- Quality of collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
- Positive impact on employee experience, culture-building, and community engagement.
- Effectiveness in internal and external communications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or associate degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in operations management and execution.
- Exceptional influence and collaboration skills. Ability to get things done working collaboratively across a highly matrixed organization.
- An aptitude to work independently without significant oversight or instruction to achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail under deadline pressure.
- Event Management & Logistics: 5-7 years
- Budget & Financial Management: 5-7 years
- Marketing & Promotion: 4-6 years
Preferred:
- Operations Management: Proven ability to manage and execute business operations, including financial planning, budgeting, expense reporting, and process improvement.
- Event Coordination: Experience planning and executing meetings, events, and partnerships—both internally and externally.
- Collaboration & Influence: Exceptional skills in collaborating across diverse teams and influencing outcomes in a highly matrixed environment.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external audiences.
- Strategic Project Support: Ability to support and participate in strategic initiatives and cross-group projects, including developing success metrics and communication approaches.
- Culture Building: Experience shaping and influencing a positive, inclusive, and innovative workplace culture.
