The Opportunity
Join our award-winning newsletter team and help publish investment newsletters that reach over 100,000 investors.
You’ll assist our editor-in-chief with all aspects of creating and publishing three established small-cap, growth and dividend stock newsletters, including the Investor Advisory Service—named to the Hulbert Investment Newsletter Honor Roll for 16 consecutive years for its outstanding long-term performance.
This role combines editorial production with financial publishing, offering a clear growth path within an established financial publishing team. The right candidate will pay close attention to details and be a compelling communicator—we’ll get you up and running with our stock analysis tools to round out the role.
What You’ll Do
Content Creation & Editorial (40%)
- Edit and proofread investment commentary from the editor and contributing analysts
- Assist in drafting compelling copy for social media channels and blog posts
- Create and optimize content used in newsletter marketing
- Ensure accuracy and clarity in all investment communications
- Maintain consistency in voice and style across all publications
- Assist in webinar presentations about newsletter strategies and recommendations
Production & Technical (40%)
- Input and manage content in Kentico CMS and Substack platforms
- Create PDF issues with accompanying Excel spreadsheets and supporting materials
- Create, test, and schedule email alerts for new issues, alerts and investment recommendations in Interspire
- Keep track of investment recommendations, sells, dividends and other transactions and track newsletter performance
- Stage and publish blog and social media content
Investment Research & Analysis (20%)
- Research and write quarterly follow-ups for covered companies]
- Assist in research and writing of original company analyses for SmallCap Informer
- Track and analyze portfolio performance metrics using StockCentral Portfolio
- Update newsletter performance figures using Hulbert data
- Monitor dividend transactions and corporate actions affecting recommendations
What You Bring
Required Communication Skills
- Exceptional writing ability, particularly in explaining complex investment concepts clearly
- Willingness to collaborate with editor on ongoing basis to create top-notch content
- Readiness to take the initiative and work independently when required
- Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail
- Good grasp of grammar and ability to manage copy according to established stylesheet
- Ability to write in different voices for different audiences and purposes
- Experience with developing and presenting in-person and online presentations
Required Technical Proficiency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word for editing and tracking changes across documents
- Comfortable with standard Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to use content management systems (Kentico, Substack, or similar)
- Comfortable learning new software platforms and email marketing systems
Required Interest or Background
- Genuine interest in stock investing and the stock market, or prior experience working in financial publishing
- Ability to learn BetterInvesting’s fundamental stock investing methodology (we’ll teach you how!)
