San Diego Surf Soccer is seeking a creative, driven Marketing Coordinator to lead day-to-day brand storytelling across social and digital platforms. This role is ideal for someone passionate about soccer, fluent in Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and energized by fast-paced, event-based environments - including weekends on the field.

The Role:
The Marketing Coordinator will serve as the day-to-day brand steward for San Diego Surf while collaborating closely with the broader Surf Nation marketing team. This role focuses on social media management, content creation, player and coach storytelling, and tournament/event coverage.
You will report directly to the Surf Nation Marketing Manager.
Note: This is a fully on-site position, based in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. Weekend and tournament coverage is required and can vary on location - Del Mar (Surf Sports Park), Oceanside (SoCal Sports Complex), or Temecula (Galway Downs). Some league coverage can also include Norco (SilverLakes Sports Complex).
Key Responsibilities:
Social & Content
- Manage @SurfSoccerClub Instagram and support TikTok/YouTube storytelling
- Execute weekly content plans and drive daily engagement with players, parents, and coaches
- Capture and coordinate photo/video coverage at matches, tournaments, and events
- Develop compelling stories highlighting team success, player milestones, college commitments, National Team call-ups, and alumni achievements
Brand & Communications
- Write press releases, blog posts, and website content for SurfSoccer.com
- Maintain website updates (WordPress/GoDaddy)
- Collaborate with Creative on asset development and branding initiatives (Canva proficiency required)
- Identify PR and storytelling opportunities to elevate club visibility
Events & Campaign Support
- Provide on-site marketing support for Surf tournaments and events (Surf Cup, Girlazo!, Club America Cup, Man City Cup, College Cup, etc.)
- Support monthly San Diego Surf newsletter development
- Assist with retail marketing campaigns (Shopify/Klaviyo) for fan wear
Reporting & Operations
- Track and report KPIs across social, email, and web platforms
- Manage projects in ClickUp and collaborate cross-functionally
- Maintain clear communication with the Marketing Manager, proactively aligning on priorities
Qualifications
- Passion for soccer and youth sports
- 1–3+ years of marketing experience, with strong emphasis on social media and video
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong writing and communication skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to deadlines
- Collaborative, positive, and self-directed
