Summary
Chesapeake Lighting is a leader in the commercial lighting industry looking for an initiative-taker to fill a unique hybrid role of Marketing and Event Planner Specialist. Chesapeake Lighting is a sales intermediary between our customers and the lighting and controls manufacturers we represent. The position is responsible for driving customer awareness of Chesapeake Lighting and the many lines we represent, providing a consistent brand voice across all marketing activities to specific audiences.
Working closely with management, this role will support the successful implementation and delivery of strategies and initiatives focused on driving client engagement.
The successful candidate would be responsible for but not limited to our social media activity, planning events ranging from 20 to 400 guests and managing our DC showroom space. Occasional travel to our Maryland based headquarters in Columbia would also be required. We like to differentiate ourselves from our competitors by hosting fun, interesting and educational events.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, coordinate, and execute end-to-end logistics and high quality yet budget conscience trade shows, and events
• Work with on-site 3rd party vendors to coordinate and ensure smooth and successful results.
• Establish, implement and maintain project management tools for special events processes, including events calendar coordination.
• Track attendance and participation, manage collection of assets and contacts, and facilitate appropriate follow-up from events.
• Assist in creating and distributing event collateral (i.e., invitations, event flyer, follow up questionnaires for attendees).
• Coordinate all facets of events with sales teams to help encourage maximum attendance.
• Order and maintain inventory of marketing supplies, corporate collateral, and promotional items and ensure appropriate stock at events to advance brand building and support sales.
• Development standards and procedures for various marketing events, including establishing best practices for events
• Plan and execute marketing campaigns across various platforms to support business goals.
• Develop engaging content, manage social media, Newsletter creation and optimize website.
• Maintain consistent branding across all touchpoints.
• Analyze consumer trends, competitor activity, and campaign data (KPIs) to inform future strategies.
• Perform administrative office duties as required
• Other duties/projects as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience: 3+ years in event planning or marketing, with a proven track record in digital marketing, social media, or content creation.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
• Skills: Exceptional written/verbal communication, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in event management software, CRM tools, and digital marketing platforms.
• Attributes: Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
