Role Overview
As an Activation Intern, you will support the paid media team in managing campaign reporting, creative performance analysis, and digital marketing execution across several client accounts.
This role will give you exposure to real campaign performance data, marketing analytics, reporting processes, and creative testing frameworks used in paid media campaigns. You will work closely with the activation team to help organize data, analyze trends, and support the execution of paid marketing initiatives.
This internship is ideal for someone interested in paid media, marketing analytics, digital advertising, and performance marketing strategy.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Paid Media Reporting & Analytics
- Assist in pulling and organizing campaign performance data across multiple client accounts
- Support the development and maintenance of reporting templates used across the activation team
- Assist with end-of-month campaign reporting and performance summaries
- Help compile weekly performance reports for key accounts
- Pull performance metrics and creative analytics for Motion creative reports
- Assist with reporting data pulls for paid media campaigns
Campaign & Marketing Support
- Support affiliate outreach efforts for key accounts
- Assist with scheduling marketing emails and developing subject line ideas for campaign sends
- Contribute to Indie’s internal newsletter content development and scheduling
- Help maintain organization of campaign data, reporting dashboards, and documentation
Paid Media Learning & Team Support
- Assist activation team members with ad hoc campaign analysis and reporting requests
- Support research into paid media trends, platform features, and creative testing approaches
- Participate in internal brainstorming and campaign planning discussions when applicable
End-of-Summer Capstone Project
- Develop and present a hypothetical paid media strategy demonstrating key learnings from the internship.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Digital Marketing Fundamentals – Basic understanding of paid media channels (paid social, search, affiliate) and common performance metrics such as CTR, CPC, engagement, and conversions.
- Data & Reporting – Supports campaign reporting by organizing and reviewing performance data in spreadsheets and reporting tools with attention to detail.
- Organization & Time Management – Manages tasks, reporting requests, and deadlines across projects with strong organization and follow-through.
- Curiosity & Initiative – Demonstrates eagerness to learn digital marketing and proactively seeks opportunities to grow skills and contribute to the team.
- Communication & Collaboration – Communicates clearly and works collaboratively with activation, strategy and creative teams to support campaign execution.
Who We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Advertising, Communications, or a related field
- Strong interest in paid media, digital marketing, and marketing analytics
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets, reporting data, and marketing metrics
- Curious, collaborative, and excited to learn in a fast-paced agency environmen
This is a paid internship ($20/hour) requiring a 20-hour weekly commitment, including three in-person days in our Raleigh office (Tuesday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM). Interns should also be available for Friday morning team meetings and occasional additional meetings (virtual or in person) as needed.
