Mortgage Processor and Operations Associate — Baril Home Lending, LLC Remote | Georgia or Florida preferred
About Us
Baril Home Lending, LLC is an independent mortgage brokerage based in Milton, Georgia, built on a simple idea: borrowers deserve better than what the big banks offer, and real estate agents deserve a lending partner who actually makes their lives easier. We're a small, intentional operation - which means the person who joins us will have real ownership over how things run, not just a seat at someone else's table.
Our founder grew up in this industry (literally, second-generation mortgage), spent years in CRM and sales strategy at one of the top SaaS companies in the world, and came back to mortgage because he knew there was a smarter way to do it. We're building that here.
The Role
First and foremost, this is a mortgage processing job. If you're not excited about moving loan files from application to clear-to-close, this probably isn't the right fit - that's the heart of what you'll do here every day.
What makes this role a little different from a typical processing seat is what happens in between. We're a lean operation, and when the pipeline allows for it, there's real value you can add on the business side - keeping our CRM clean, supporting our agent partners, helping with marketing execution. It's not busywork; it's the kind of stuff that helps a small brokerage punch above its weight. But make no mistake: processing comes first, and everything else fills the gaps.
What you'll own:
Loan Operations (your primary focus)
- Coordinating files from submission through closing - ordering title, chasing appraisals, collecting and verifying borrower docs, clearing conditions
- Reviewing new applications for completeness before they hit the lender
- Communicating loan status updates to borrowers and referring agents
- Maintaining compliance documentation and closed loan file organization
Business Operations (as time allows based on pipeline volume)
- Managing and maintaining our CRM - keeping contacts current, logging touchpoints, updating deal stages
- Assisting with marketing execution: formatting newsletter content, scheduling social posts, pulling together materials from templates
- Preparing loan summary one-pagers and pipeline status updates for our real estate agent partners
- Scheduling, calendar management, and general admin that keeps the LOs focused on originating
Who You Are
We're open on experience level - what matters more is how you're wired. That said, here's what fits:
If you're earlier in your career: you've had some exposure to mortgage, real estate, title, or financial services, you pick things up fast, and you're looking for a place where you can actually learn the whole business rather than one small piece of it.
If you have years under your belt: you know how loan files work, you're probably tired of being one of fifty processors at a shop that treats you like a headcount, and you want to bring your experience somewhere it'll actually matter.
Either way, you:
- Notice when something's slipping through the cracks - and fix it without being asked
- Communicate clearly and professionally with borrowers, agents, and third parties
- Are comfortable working independently without a lot of hand-holding
- Have some experience with a CRM or similar tool
- Want to grow with something, not just collect a paycheck from it
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
- Fully remote - work from wherever you do your best work (GA or FL based preferred)
- A front-row seat to how a modern independent brokerage operates and grows
- Small team with no bureaucracy or unneeded red tape
- The chance to help shape how this business scales
A note on benefits: We're going to be straight with you - we don't currently offer health insurance or traditional benefits packages. You'd be employee number three at a brokerage that's intentionally building something, and we're not there yet. Our goal is to get there as we grow, and the person in this role will have had a hand in making that possible. If you need full benefits on day one, this probably isn't the right fit right now - and we'd rather you know that upfront than find out later.
To Apply
