Reports to: Director of Marketing & Communications
Status: Part-Time, Hourly ($25 - $40/hr. based on experience)
The Brimmer and May School, an all-gender day school in Chestnut Hill, MA, is seeking a Website Coordinator and Communications Assistant to join the Marketing and Communications team. The Website Coordinator is responsible for updating the School’s website in support of the School's mission, including overall design; news stories, blog posts, and other relevant content; imagery; videos; and public-facing online calendars (such as Admissions, Athletics, and Alumni). The Website Coordinator is also responsible for assisting the Director and the Marketing & Communications Associate in implementing the School’s overarching marketing and communications strategy.
Ideal Skillset
· Experience using website Content Management Systems (CMS), specifically Blackbaud and Finalsite, and working with their customer service
· Confidence using Constant Contact, Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, Issuu, and Vimeo
· Extreme attention to detail
· Strong editing, writing, and proofreading skills
· Creativity and design sense
· Photo and video editing
· Ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Dependability and professionalism
Job Functions
· Sourcing website content (both proactive and responsive) from different departments of the School and implementing updates with SEO strategy in mind
· Managing website Faculty & Staff directory, including sourcing new headshots and bios for new employees at the beginning of each school year
· Working with Database Administrator and the Athletics Department to facilitate calendar integrations
· Creating and curating a weekly newsletter to families (via Constant Contact)
· Designing graphics for website pages and weekly newsletter announcements
· Organizing files and folders on the internal server (Sharepoint) for MarComm projects like School Photo Day and Brimmer Magazine
· Collaborating with website design firms on future redesign/homepage refresh
· Communicating with the Parents Association to share event information for the website and newsletter
Required Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree required
· Minimum of 2-4 years of experience with website CMS, preferably in a marketing environment
