Health Care Foundation for Ventura County (HCFVC) is a public benefit nonprofit dedicated to strengthening Ventura County Health Care Agency (VCHCA) through philanthropy, supporting its hospitals, clinics, and programs to provide quality health care for all. HCFVC advances this mission through grants, major gifts, employee giving, planned giving, and other fundraising initiatives.
Role Description
The Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator supports HCFVC’s marketing and development efforts by assisting with fundraising initiatives, including giving campaigns and workshops, managing donor communications, and maintaining accurate CRM data. This role executes outreach across email, social media, print, and web while upholding the Foundation’s digital and visual identity and ensuring brand consistency. Additionally, this position provides administrative and event planning support and collaborates with the grants team to advance foundation initiatives as needed.

Qualifications
While all qualifications are preferred, we welcome early-career professionals who are eager to learn and grow in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–2 years of experience in marketing, communications, nonprofit fundraising, graphic design, or a related role.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
- Experience with email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., DonorPerfect, Salesforce).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with photography and video editing.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with AI tools and platforms to support workflow efficiency.
- Maintains a professional and engaging in-person presence, with a willingness to represent the organization through occasional speaking engagements and meetings with donors and Ventura County colleagues as needed.
- Willingness to occasionally adjust work hours to accommodate events, meetings, or organizational needs.
- Must be available to work in-office in Ventura.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and design marketing materials including presentations, social media content, email campaigns, newsletters, and print collateral.
- Create and manage donor-facing communications, including regular newsletter campaigns in Constant Contact.
- Support fundraising initiatives, including employee giving campaigns and planned giving outreach.
- Produce photo and video content to highlight donor impact, grant outcomes, programs, and community partnerships.
- Coordinate events and engagement efforts, including webinars, workshops, and community-facing initiatives.
- Collaborate with the grants lead to develop post-award marketing and reporting collateral.
- Maintain and update the donor database, ensuring accurate gift tracking and reporting.
- Assist in preparing board presentations, reports, and materials.
- Provide website updates and support content management.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
