Role Summary
As an intern, you will support the content and comms efforts in social media content, drafting press pitches, and monitoring relevant news in CNTI’s issue areas.
Hourly Rate and Scale
$22/hour; a minimum of 15 hours/week and maximum of 30 hours/week over the course of three months (ideally June 1-September 1), with the possibility for extension. Hours per week and the term of contract will be agreed upon before you begin work.
Location
Remote; regular video calls with various team members.
Responsibilities
- Draft social media content based on CNTI output
- Create media lists and assist with journalist outreach
- Track news related to CNTI’s issue areas to inform CNTI’s strategic approach
- Contribute to CNTI’s monthly newsletter and other external content
- Other tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in journalism and related tech
- Prior experience contributing to organizational social media channels
- Experience with Canva, Adobe InDesign and Illustrator (for social media graphics and infographics)
- Video editing and voice-overs, including familiarity with CapCut, Premiere Pro, iPhone image/video editing
- Familiarity with AP style
- Strong interpersonal / communicative skills to connect with (distributed) CNTI team and others
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Solid writing and editing skills
- Nice to have: experience with MuckRack
Education & Experience Required
Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a journalism, communications, or related degree program
