Twin Cities public relations agency Bellmont Partners, winner of multiple “Best Places to Work” awards, is seeking a new account executive to add to our growing Horticulture & Agriculture practice group. We’re looking for a well-rounded communicator with approximately four to six years of experience who can run with social media and multichannel content development and build relationships with influencers, as well as assist with media outreach. The ideal candidate is a social-first PR pro who is passionate about helping the ag and hort industry build trust with farmers, gardeners, partners, communities and consumers, on behalf of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to government programs, retailers and startups. Past agency experience is strongly preferred.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to create and implement award-winning PR campaigns on a local, national and global scale. RESPONSIBILITIES
Day-to-day responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Client and Account Team Support – 85%
- Serve as a core member of approximately three to five account teams, completing assignments as directed by account leads
- Draft materials for client projects in areas including owned media (e.g., social media posts, website copy, blog posts, newsletter copy, marketing collateral, etc.), earned media (e.g., media pitches, news releases, media kit materials, etc.), thought leadership (e.g., bylined articles, award and speaking nominations, etc.), special events (e.g., trade shows, client-hosted events, etc.) and paid media (e.g., paid social media posts, influencer relations, etc.)
- Conduct client research, including researching potential influencer partners, developing media lists, interviewing subject matter experts, etc.
- Develop and update social media calendars and editorial calendars
- Monitor, track and report on social media, influencer and earned media results, maintaining trackers and developing reports
- With support and coaching from senior team members, grow account management and client service skills, including developing status reports, meeting agendas, invoices and other materials
Business Development – 5%
- Assist in business development efforts, including helping maintain information in internal files and databases, conducting research on new prospects, drafting case studies, and participating in internal planning meetings and prospect presentations as needed
- With support and coaching from senior team members, contribute to efforts to develop proposals and decks
- Work to establish, maintain and expand professional network
Professional Development/Operations/Administrative/Paid Volunteer Time – 10%
- Work with manager to establish individual professional development goals that align with the agency’s overall annual goals and your areas of interest; make consistent progress toward goals through professional development events and resources, seeking out additional projects to flex new skills
- Participate in staff meetings, one-on-one check-ins with manager, and other agency meetings and events
- Complete personal administrative tasks in a timely manner, including weekly time entry, monthly expense reports, etc.
- If interested, seek out volunteer opportunities that align with personal and professional goals and areas of interest, using Bellmont Gives Back hours (paid volunteer time)

- Salary range: $60,000 to $70,000 DOE
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field, or equivalent experience
- Approximately four to six years of communications experience, preferably in the ag and/or hort field, with a strong focus on social media and content development, as well as media relations and monitoring
- Experience in the commercial agriculture industry – e.g., crop production, irrigation, ag manufacturing, ag-tech – is strongly preferred
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to translate technical language into easily digestible copy, and a natural researcher with experience in media databases and monitoring tools such as Cision and MuckRack
- Based in or able to relocate to Minnesota
