Communications Coordinator

Position type: Full-time, non-exempt
Salary range: $55,000 - $60,000
Supervisor: Director of Community Engagement

The Communications Coordinator will implement organizational communications and marketing strategies to effectively communicate with stakeholders, promote public awareness of PAD’s approach and services, and advance PAD’s mission. Working in collaboration with PAD staff and external designers, the Coordinator will support all internal and external communications, including developing and implementing marketing campaigns, designing digital and physical collateral, maintaining PAD’s social media presence, establishing and maintaining media relationships, and producing newsletters and reports.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement digital and in-person communications strategies that engage diverse stakeholders, including local governments, residents, funders, and partner organizations;
- Establish and maintain media relationships and coordinate media interviews;
- Collect and share testimonials from community members and PAD participants to effectively tell the story of the organization’s impact;
- Manage social media presence across multiple platforms, including creating and managing a posting calendar, developing content, and facilitating engagement;
- Design clear and engaging graphic communications for print and web. This may include website and social media graphics, branded signage and materials, posters, flyers, and other marketing materials;
- Maintain PAD’s website and online accounts with up-to-date information, content creation, and design improvements;
- Maintain contact database and support production of e-newsletter and other communications to contact list;
- Design report templates and produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports;
- Capture content, including photos and video content, at high-visibility events;
- Maintain and organize all materials which include photos, videos, testimonials, and other needed communications resources in Microsoft SharePoint.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in marketing or communications.
- Flexible work ethic, with the ability to work some evenings and weekends.
- Highly proficient in Canva, including experience developing branded templates, multi-page documents, social media campaigns, and visual storytelling assets.
- Fluency with social media tools and platforms.
- Strong graphic design skills.
- Strong project management skills, including developing work flows and progressive deadlines amongst multiple contributors.
- Demonstrates a proactive work style, anticipates what's coming up, works through obstacles independently, and isn't afraid to ask questions or raise new ideas.
