Job Title: Social Media and Content Specialist
Position Location: Raleigh, NC. Hybrid - In office 3 days a week.
Job Summary
The Social Media & Content Specialist is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive content and social media plans that engage members, employees, and the community. This role manages content creation across multiple platforms, including social media, newsletters, blogs, and other marketing communications, and oversees social media advertising campaigns to drive engagement, growth, and conversions.
The specialist applies analytics, audience insights, and best practices to optimize content performance, strengthen brand presence, and support marketing objectives. Additionally, the role manages newsletter strategy, production, and distribution to ensure timely, relevant, and engaging communications to members.
As a key contributor to the Coastal team, your responsibilities will be:
(30%) Social Media Planning & Management
- Develop and execute social media plans, including content calendars, audience targeting, and posting schedules to maximize engagement that drives new member and product conversions.
- Monitor engagement, track trends, and implement best practices to enhance brand presence and member interaction.
- Align social media efforts with broader marketing campaigns, organizational initiatives, and compliance requirements.
(25%) Content Creation & Management
- Write, edit, curate, and manage content for social media, newsletters, blogs, email communications, and other digital or internal platforms.
- Plan, manage, and distribute newsletters to ensure timely delivery and relevant, engaging content for members.
- Ensure all content reflects brand standards, campaign objectives, and audience relevance.
- Collaborate with marketing colleagues, business units, and external partners to produce high-quality, engaging content that drives awareness and engagement.
- Repurpose and adapt content across multiple channels to maximize reach and impact.
(20%) Member & Employee Advocacy Programs
- Develop and implement programs to encourage member and employee social media advocacy.
- Leverage user-generated content and testimonials to amplify Coastal's reach and credibility.
- Provide guidance and resources to support internal participation in social campaigns.
(15%) Social Media Advertising & Campaign Optimization
- Plan, execute, and optimize paid social campaigns, including targeting, budgeting, and creative testing in coordination with the digital marketing specialist.
- Monitor performance, adjust strategies, and ensure campaigns meet growth, engagement, and conversion goals.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to maximize campaign ROI and maintain brand consistency.
(10%) Analytics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track and analyze social media and content performance metrics, including engagement, reach, traffic, and conversions.
- Prepare reports and dashboards to share insights with marketing leadership.
- Recommend improvements to content, posting strategies, and social campaigns to continually enhance results.

Experience
- Five years of experience in social media management, content creation, or a related field
- Experience with financial services or credit union marketing preferred
Education
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related area; or four years of additional experience in lieu of degree
- Advanced coursework or certification in social media strategy or content marketing preferred
