Purpose
Serves as the central coordinator for College of Fine Arts (COFA) Career Services, including management of communications, events, and administration.
Responsibilities
- Communications: Serves as Career Services’ marketing and communications lead. Writes and disseminates digital content, including Career Services’ biweekly newsletter and announcements. Designs Career Services print promotional materials, including digital signage, event posters, signage and student guides. Collaborates with other units and external partners on promoting programs and career opportunities to students. Designs and updates web/digital copy for COFA website (Drupal), Career Services website (Wordpress), and 12Twenty. Represents Career Services within COFA Communications, design and social media employee groups.
- Events Management: Organize and support events for Career Services (including College-wide events and special programs). Make room reservations, submit facilities requests, and provide logistical support as needed. Assist with programmatic communications.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Director of Career Services, including budget tracking and allocation. Interacts with business office to perform due diligence on event budget reconciliation. Monitor and maintain office subscriptions. Build and maintain project planning, creating and updating workflows, and monitoring progress of projects. Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with internal and community stakeholders. This includes managing and operating the room reservation process for the communal spaces on level 1 of the Doty Fine Arts Building. Collaborate with affiliated departments in COFA Undergraduate Studies and the Kendra Scott Women’s Entrepreneurship Leadership Institute. Engage with other parties on-campus and off-campus to execute joint ventures in professional development and local community impact and collaboration.
- Minor in Arts Management and Administration: Provide administrative support for the Minor in Arts Management and Administration. Managing instructional pieces.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years of program/project support experience.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, build strategic relationships, and effectively manage time and resources collaboratively.
- Intermediate to advanced working experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Basic working experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube).
- A self-starter - ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing relationships and programs, engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation for small- to large-scale events.
- Graphic design experience
- Creative moderating/facilitating of decision-making group processes.
- Familiarity with not-for-profit arts organizations or public arts organizations such as museums, galleries, public arts programs, and performing arts centers.
- Knowledge of event-planning tools (Canva, Eventbrite, Mailchimp, and Zoom)
Driving Required
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provided a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).
Salary Range
$55,000 - $61,000
Working Conditions
- 5 days a week in person for at least first 45 days. 1 day/week remote flexibility afterwards.

Work Shift
Monday - Friday, 8am – 5pm, some evening and weekend support for events, as needed.

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
