About Crystal AI
Crystal AI is a software engineering and consulting firm. We build modern, AI-leveraged software and advise clients on how to ship better products faster. We're at an inflection point — small team, real clients, growing demand — and we're ready to build a real marketing function for the first time.
What this internship is
This is not a coffee-and-copying internship. You'll be the first marketing hire at a small, ambitious firm. You'll own real projects, see them through, and watch them produce results. The work you do will be visible — on our website, on LinkedIn, in client conversations — and will directly shape how Crystal AI shows up in the market.
If you want a portfolio piece that proves you can build something from zero, this is it.
What you'll do
- Build the foundation: brand voice, positioning, and messaging templates
- Set up and run our LinkedIn presence — Nick's personal page and the company page
- Plan and write content: 2-3 LinkedIn posts/week, monthly long-form pieces, case studies
- Manage our content calendar end to end
- Run light competitor research and ICP (ideal customer profile) work
- Help design lead magnets and outreach materials
- Track what's working — engagement, follower growth, lead source attribution
- Sit in on internal strategy meetings and contribute ideas
What we're looking for
- Currently enrolled at USF (or another local university) in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
- Junior, senior, or graduate preferred — but motivated sophomores welcome
- Strong writing — you can take a technical idea and make it readable
- Comfortable on LinkedIn; bonus if you have a personal brand of any size
- Curious about technology, AI, and consulting — you don't need to know all of it, but you do need to be interested
- Self-directed — you don't need to be told what to do every hour
- Reliable communicator — answers Slack messages, hits deadlines, raises issues early
Bonus points
- Coursework or projects in B2B marketing, content marketing, or SEO
- Experience with Canva, Notion, Buffer/Hootsuite, or HubSpot
- A personal LinkedIn following or content portfolio (blog, newsletter, etc.)
- Membership in USF AMA, marketing clubs, or related organizations
