General Function

The Programs and Prevention Manager is responsible for the implementation, coordination, quality, and evaluation of Boomerang Youth's prevention and training initiatives. This position oversees school-based RISE programming and professional development offerings, including Community Resiliency Model (CRM), ISS Coordinator Training, and other resilience- and prevention-focused workshops.
The Programs and Prevention Manager supervise the Program Coordinator and intern team; coordinates program implementation across school and community partners; supports program evaluation and reporting efforts; and collaborates closely with the Executive Director to strengthen program quality, community partnerships, and organizational sustainability.
This role requires a highly organized, relationship-centered leader who is passionate about youth development, social-emotional learning, resilience, and systems-level prevention work.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. PROGRAM LEADERSHIP & OVERSIGHT
a. Oversee RISE Program Implementation
· Provide direct oversight and coordination of RISE programming across participating schools and sites.
· Ensure programming is implemented with fidelity to organizational values, curriculum goals, and resilience-based practices.
· Coordinate cohort scheduling, staffing assignments, implementation logistics, and communication with school partners.
· Support ongoing curriculum refinement and continuous improvement efforts.
· Facilitate RISE groups as needed to ensure program continuity and quality implementation.
b. Staff & Intern Supervision
· Supervise the program implementation team, including a Program Coordinator and interns.
· Provide regular supervision, coaching, performance feedback, and professional development support.
· Coordinate intern recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing support.
· Foster a collaborative, mission-aligned culture grounded in accountability, flexibility, and youth-centered practice.
2. PROGRAM EVALUATION & DATA MANAGEMENT
a. Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
· Lead program evaluation, data collection, outcome tracking, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
· Support development and implementation of assessment tools, surveys, and reporting systems.
· Monitor progress toward established program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and outcome measures.
· Analyze participation, implementation, and outcome trends to inform program improvement and strategic planning.
· Collaborate with school partners and organizational leadership to identify opportunities for program growth and impact.
b. Grant & Reporting Support
· Collaborate with the Executive Director on grant reporting, data collection, and narrative development.
· Maintain organized program records and assist in preparing impact reports, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
3. TRAINING & CAPACITY BUILDING
a. Training Program Leadership
· Lead implementation of Boomerang Youth's professional development, training, and capacity-building initiatives.
· Coordinate and facilitate resilience-, prevention-, and youth development-focused training, including the Community Resilience Model (CRM) and In-School Suspension Coordinator (ISS) Training programs, as assigned.
1. Co-facilitate training with the Executive Director and other certified facilitators, as needed.
· Coordinate participant registration, logistics, materials, and follow-up communication.
· Support refinement of existing training curricula and development of new training opportunities that align with organizational priorities and community needs.
· Complete and maintain certifications, credentials, and continuing education are necessary to support training delivery.
b. Community Capacity Building
· Cultivate relationships with schools, districts, nonprofit agencies, and community organizations interested in prevention, resilience, and capacity-building services.
· Support expansion of Boomerang's training portfolio by identifying emerging community needs and partnership opportunities.
· Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating contracted training and technical assistance services.
· Collaborate with the Executive Director to strengthen Boomerang's role as a community partner for prevention, resilience, and system-level change.
4. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT
· Represent Boomerang Youth in school meetings, community collaborations, outreach activities, and professional networks.
· Support agency communication and engagement efforts, including presentations, newsletter, recruitment activities, and special events.
· Participate in occasional evening and weekend events as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Counseling, Education, Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with youth and families in school, nonprofit, behavioral health, or community-based settings.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or program leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, social-emotional learning, youth development, and the social factors impacting youth, families and school communities.
- Experience facilitating groups, training, workshops, or educational programming with youth and/or adult audiences.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with program evaluation, data collection, and reporting.
- Ability to perform duties in a manner that honors the expertise and lived experience of key stakeholders.
- Reliable transportation for required program travel between school and community sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within school systems or school-community partnerships.
- Experience with restorative practices, resilience-based interventions, or prevention programming.
- Interest in systems-level work, professional development, and organizational growth.
