Role Summary:
This role is responsible for producing high-quality editorial content to support Milk Street’s eCommerce business and marketing initiatives. In this role, you will execute store product descriptions and email promotional campaigns, from brainstorming newsletters to researching content to assisting with asset management. To succeed in this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce timely, clean and informative content. As Milk Street is a brand built for home cooks, the ability to communicate and draw upon personal experience in the kitchen is critical to this role.
This is a full-time position based at our headquarters at 177 Milk Street, Boston, MA. Milk Street is a hybrid office requiring two to three days in office weekly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Master Milk Street’s voice across platforms to execute high-impact marketing materials.
- Draft and deliver 2–3 daily advertorial emails.
- Write and copyedit product descriptions on cookware, tools and pantry goods, plus in-depth proprietary product landing pages.
- Coordinate product testing and notes with buying and testing teams to understand key attributes and angles for product and email content.
- Write, copyedit and approve weekly cookbook emails.
- Pitch, ideate and execute new concepts, sales and formats for Store website and advertorial email calendar.
- Track art, graphic needs and assets for product pages, email promotions and Store website.
- Write, copyedit and proofread cross-departmental emails and ad-hoc content as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, marketing, communications or a related field.
- Experience: 1–3 years minimum writing experience. Previous writing work in a culinary, culture or eCommerce/marketing capacity is a plus.
- Writing: Strong writing and proofreading skills; mastery of AP style; and ability to adopt brand voice.
- Food forward: Experience in a professional kitchen or extensive experience as a home cook or recipe developer.
- Deadline oriented: A proven ability to juggle deadlines, manage several projects and work in a fast-paced environment, across a cross-functional team. Must have excellent organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- A passion for cooking, cuisine and global foodways.
- Experience collaborating and communicating across organizational tools, like Quip, AirTable and Slack.
- Experience using digital asset management tools, like Air.
- A keen eye for aesthetics, photography and design, plus how they interact with copy.
- An interest in retail and eCommerce.
