We are looking for teammates who are:?

What you will do:?
As a Tax & Audit Training Specialist, you will coordinate all activities and programs in the SCDOR Audit, Licensing, & Enforcement division that address auditor training and development under limited supervision.
Primary job duties include:?
- Leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive training program for auditors in collaboration with organizational leadership
- Coordinating and conducting auditor training sessions and ensuring consistent communication and execution of training objectives
- Scheduling training for audit teams and individual audit staff
- Acting as a liaison between the SCDOR Audit, Licensing, & Enforcement division and the Training section of the SCDOR
- Developing various instructional and technical manuals covering a wide range of tax types, including complex and specialized tax situations
- Researching and interpreting federal and state tax law
- Using all available resources to train, educate, and develop the SCDOR audit staff
- Coordinating training sessions for the public
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience.
Additional Requirements
- A valid driver's license
- The ability for statewide travel with occasional overnight stay
Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree, or higher, in a business-related field
- Eighteen hours of account coursework
- An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- Experience in accounting, auditing, finance, or tax preparation and/or analysis
- At least two years of experience in tax return preparation or auditing of tax returns
- Considerable knowledge of accounting principles, methods, procedures, and their application to South Carolina Tax Acts and Regulations

- Hours: Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week).
- Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per weekafter one year of employment with SCDOR.
- Office location: Depending on space availability, you may have theoptionto choose which SCDOR office you work in (Columbia, Charleston, Florence, Greenville, Myrtle Beach, or Rock Hill.).
