Description
Front Office Sports is seeking a Social Programmer focused on our new show FOS Tonight, with a background in sports, business media, or entertainment. The ideal teammate will help shape how audiences discover the Front Office Sports brand by deciding what content runs where, when, and why — turning a constant stream of stories, shows, interviews, and video assets into a sharp, high-performing content calendar.
This role is especially important as Front Office Sports continues to grow its multimedia and social video operation. The ideal candidate should understand how to take TV-style news segments, studio shows, interviews, and longer-form video programming and identify the strongest moments to be turned into shareable clips for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and other emerging platforms.
The ideal person for this role thinks like a scheduler, strategist, and social editor at once: equally comfortable reading platform analytics, writing strong social captions, making fast editorial calls, and spotting the clips, headlines, hooks, and formats that can help a story travel across platforms. This person should understand platform best practices, know how to package content natively for each audience, and be comfortable managing the day-to-day processes of programming, posting, and community engagement.
Our Social Programmer will work closely with and report to the Manager of Social Media.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage the day-to-day publishing calendar and cadence across Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms
- Program and distribute social-first video clips from Front Office Sports studio shows, interviews, news segments, explainers, and other multimedia programming
- Identify the most compelling moments from longer-form video and TV-style news content, helping turn them into platform-native clips with strong hooks, captions, headlines, thumbnails, and posting strategy
- Write strong, accurate, and engaging social captions that reflect the Front Office Sports voice while optimizing for platform behavior and audience engagement
- Understand and apply platform-specific best practices across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms, including caption length, posting cadence, video formatting, thumbnails, headlines, hashtags, tagging, comments, and community behavior
- Own the daily process of programming, scheduling, posting, and tracking content across social platforms
- Partner with editorial, design, and video teams to prioritize and sequence content for maximum reach and engagement
- Analyze platform performance data to inform programming decisions and optimize posting strategy in real time.
- Identify breaking news and trending moments and fast-track relevant content into the publishing queue
- Support community management across platforms, including monitoring comments, identifying audience feedback, surfacing relevant conversations, and helping maintain a smart, engaged, and brand-safe presence
- Maintain Brand Excellence: ensure programming decisions reflect consistent voice, typography, color, layout, and visual identity
- Monitor platform algorithm changes and emerging formats, recommending adjustments to programming strategy across short-form video, vertical video, livestream clips, YouTube packaging, and other social formats
- Coordinate with the broader social, editorial, video, and production teams to avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure balanced platform coverage
- Help ensure that major Front Office Sports video franchises and studio programming are consistently translated into social assets that feel native to each platform
- Ad hoc projects and other operational/administrative support as needed
