The Role: Senior Content Manager (Digital MarCom)
We are looking for an experienced Senior Content Manager to lead TFG's content marketing practice. In this role, you will serve as the team lead and operational owner of our content strategy, editorial calendars, and execution. You will bridge the gap between strategic planning and day-to-day delivery—collaborating across digital, creative, and account teams to manage everything from trade editorial to email and social content, ensuring every deliverable is on time, on brief, and on brand.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own and maintain editorial calendars across all client and internal content channels, ensuring on-time, on-strategy delivery.
- Develop content marketing plans that align with client marketing and sales pipelines.
- Map content to customer journeys and intent stages to support acquisition, engagement, and retention goals.
- Identify content gaps and opportunities based on performance data and client objectives.
- Lead a small team of writers, reviewing and editing drafts, and managing workflow against deadlines.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for content quality, consistency, and timeliness across all deliverables.
- Collaborate with digital, social, media, creative, and account teams to plan and scope content needs.
- Manage the content production pipeline end-to-end—from brief to publish.
- Oversee and contribute to a wide range of content assets: blogs, guides, email campaigns, social posts, presentation materials, infographics, videos, podcasts, and trade media placements.
- Partner with the media team to produce editorial content for trade publications.
- Plan, write, and edit email and social copy, ensuring messaging is clear, benefit-driven, and audience-appropriate.
- Manage TFG's internal content properties, including the company blog, annual research report, e-newsletter, and website content.
- Use performance data (open rates, CTR, conversions, engagement) to evaluate content effectiveness and recommend adjustments.
- Support A/B testing initiatives by providing copy variations (subject lines, CTAs, body copy).
- Apply working knowledge of SEO/AEO best practices to improve content discoverability and website performance.
- Ensure all content complies with relevant marketing regulations (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR).
- Collaborate internally across all stages of content development.
- Share industry thought leadership and best practices in content marketing.
- Other duties assigned, as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong editorial calendar and project management skills; able to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously.
- Skilled writer and editor with a strong publishing/marketing mindset, prioritizing audience needs with sound judgment on tone, clarity, and messaging.
- Comfortable interpreting performance metrics and translating data into practical content decisions.
- Experience leading or mentoring junior team members.
- Working knowledge of paid media, PR, SEO/AEO/GEO, social media and content management systems.
- Familiarity with the food and beverage industry a plus.
- Clear, proactive communicator who can manage cross-functional stakeholders.
- Thrives in fast-paced teams, demonstrating curiosity and continuous improvement.
- Detail-oriented with a strong quality-assurance mindset.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years in journalism, digital storytelling, content strategy, editorial management, marketing, or related field
- Demonstrated experience managing editorial calendars and leading content production processes.
- Experience developing a range of content formats (email, blog, social, presentation materials, trade editorial).
- Prior team lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Agency experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of digital media and brand journalism is essential to determine client content needs
- Experience developing diverse content assets (articles, email, e-books, video, audio/podcasts, infographics, case studies)
