ABOUT THE GROVE
The Grove exists to support and empower families. We're a Membership-based family club in Charlotte, built for kids and designed for adults: a place where families gather, kids grow through thoughtful programming, and parents actually get to enjoy the third space too, cafe in hand. Since opening in January 2024 we've grown into a thriving community of Member families, with our second location on the horizon in Charleston. We grow through relationships and referrals, not marketing, and every person on our team helps carry that feeling of belonging.
THE ROLE
The Membership Experience Manager connects Members with one another and with the broader Grove community through events, programming, and personal outreach. Once a new Member is approved, their ongoing experience sits with you: welcome outreach, orientations, thoughtful event planning, and programming that gives families unique reasons to come in. This is a hands-on, Member-facing role for someone eager to grow with The Grove and become a familiar face in our community. You'll report directly to our Founder, Stephanie Muhs.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Membership Retention
• Welcome new Members with personal outreach and invitations matched to each family's interests
• Host new Member orientations and manage Membership transitions with care
• Help plan and co-host semiannual Membership Committee meetings
• Build relationships across the Membership to deepen engagement and develop events together
Event Planning
• Own Member events end-to-end: birthday parties, private rentals, mixers, orientations, and Committee gatherings
• Manage the full arc of each event: intake, vendor coordination, run of show, day-of execution, setup, and breakdown
• Serve as the Member's single point of contact from first inquiry through follow-up, and manage event budgets
• Support our signature events (Back to School Market, open houses, Coffee & Catchup series)
Membership Communication
• Help define our Member communication strategy: weekly newsletter, dedicated emails, SMS, and specialty campaigns
• Own day-to-day Member communication: invitations, reminders, and follow-ups
• Write in The Grove voice: warm, personal, and relationship-first, never salesy
Programming
• Coordinate with community partners and key Members to schedule programming
• Attend all programming events as event lead, and contribute to weekly and monthly reporting
WHO YOU ARE
• 1-3 years in events, hospitality, customer service, or Membership. Early-career candidates with the right energy are encouraged to apply.
• Hands-on event planning or production experience, from concept through day-of execution
• Plugged into the Charlotte community, with a genuine interest in connecting people
• Warm, proactive, highly organized, and unflappable on event days
• Comfortable working cross-functionally; strong written and verbal communication
• Flexible for evening and weekend events as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
