Position Overview
CREDA is looking for a creative, collaborative Marketing Manager to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that engage members, grow participation and strengthen our brand. In this role, you'll partner with teams across the association to translate business goals into compelling marketing strategies and content. You'll lead campaigns that promote conferences and events, support membership growth and retention, elevate thought leadership, increase participation in programs and communicate the impact of our initiatives.
From campaign planning and storytelling to digital marketing, content creation and project management, you'll help ensure every touchpoint reinforces CREDA's value to the commercial real estate development industry.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer, skilled project manager and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys collaborating with multiple stakeholders and is energized by finding creative ways to engage audiences.
This is a hybrid position with three days required on-site in Herndon, Virginia.
Primary Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy and Campaigns
- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that support CREDA's strategic priorities, including conferences and education, membership recruitment and retention, government affairs, research and thought leadership, business development and member engagement.
- Lead marketing strategies and promotional plans for CREDA's conferences and educational programs, driving registration, attendance and post-event engagement.
- Develop targeted marketing campaigns that increase participation in CREDA Forums and other member programs.
- Partner with the Membership and Chapter Relations team to create campaigns that strengthen member recruitment, onboarding, retention and engagement.
- Collaborate with the Government Affairs team to translate advocacy initiatives into clear, compelling member communications that demonstrate commercial real estate’s enduring impact.
- Support the CREDA Research Foundation through marketing and communications that increase awareness of its research, publications and industry leadership.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify communications opportunities, develop messaging and ensure marketing efforts align with organizational goals.
- Maintain integrated marketing calendars, campaign timelines and project schedules across multiple initiatives.
- Coordinate the production of marketing collateral with internal and external creative partners, ensuring projects remain on brand, on schedule and on budget.
Content and Digital Marketing
- Develop compelling content across multiple channels, including email, web, social media, presentations, video and print.
- Manage and edit CREDA's weekly member newsletter, including editorial planning, content development and audience growth strategies.
- Oversee the editorial calendar and content strategy for the Market Share blog, working with internal subject matter experts and external contributors.
- Partner with the Director of Digital Strategy to optimize website content, digital campaigns, social media, mobile apps and other digital platforms.
- Help develop video content that showcases CREDA's programs, members and industry leadership.
- Monitor campaign performance and engagement metrics, using data and insights to continually improve marketing effectiveness.
Media Relations and Communications
- Assist in the development and distribution of press releases and media materials that promote CREDA initiatives, research, events and advocacy efforts.
- Develop presentations, scripts and promotional messaging for conferences, webinars, chapter resources and executive communications.
Content Development
- Write and manage the New Voices column for Development magazine.
- Contribute compelling marketing copy and storytelling across association publications and campaigns.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Partner with the Vice President for Marketing and Communications and the full department team to execute departmental initiatives and strategic priorities.
- Serve as a collaborative marketing resource for departments across the organization, helping teams identify opportunities, strengthen messaging and maximize campaign results.
- Stay current on marketing trends, digital engagement strategies and best practices for associations and membership organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in marketing, communications or integrated campaign management.
- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences and channels.
- Experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns that achieve measurable results.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience collaborating across departments and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Experience building marketing emails, workflows and audience segments.
- Experience managing social media content and scheduling platforms.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar creative software.
- Association, nonprofit, membership organization and event marketing.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with curiosity, creativity and a willingness to take initiative.
