The Specialist will work as a part of the Tournament Business Affairs team which maintains the day-to-day relationship between PGA TOUR Champions and our Co-Sanctioned tournaments. They will assist in the execution of departmental goals which will help our tournaments market and promote their events, thereby increasing revenue and attendance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related field required
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in Sports Marketing, Business, Management, Sports Management or other related area
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
- Strong writing and proofreading skills
- Excellent communications skills and ability to handle multiple priorities at once
- Proactive team player with ability to develop relationships
- Knowledge of golf tournaments is preferred
- Able to safely operate a utility vehicle such as, but not limited to, golf carts, utility carts, and shuttle carts
Responsibilities/Duties
- Understand title sponsor objectives; track and record activation programs for all
- Understand tournament marketing strategies; track and record successful concepts and promotions for use in Tournament Reports and Best Practice site
- Assist in the collection and distribution of content on Microsoft Teams, the Best Practices platform for PGA TOUR Champions
- Maintain and update department master tournament information, including contract terms and other key data points
- Work with supervisor on PowerPoint presentations for the purpose of such activities as title sponsor meetings, tournament debrief meetings and spring & fall tournament meetings
- Participate in tournament/title sponsor advance calls and document opportunities for future consideration
- Provide support and assistance to department Directors in their ongoing role with the PGA TOUR Sales Support Program/National Sales
- Assist in driving revenue through the sale of Regional Tournament assets
- Identify and create new revenue opportunities for Regional tournament activations
- Ability to effectively utilize Salesforce CRM to track, measure, analyze and report sales activities
- Assist with creating benefits for Regional partners to include hospitality, Pro-Am and sponsorship
- Engage with Regional clients throughout the year and gain a true understanding of their business
- Create and manage the Quarterly Sales Newsletter and participate in Quarterly sales calls
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure Host Organization, Facility and Title Sponsor agreements are accurate and executed timely as requested.
- Provide support and assistance to TBA Directors, relative to post-event recap and benchmarking for events
- Collaborate with TBA Directors on updating PGA TOUR Champions Tournament Resource Center
- Special Projects or other duties as assigned
