Our Autonomous Mobility client is seeking a Product Communications Writer to join their team for the next 12 months, 40 hours/week.
This role is hybrid onsite 3 days a week in Foster City, CA.
Job Title: Product Communications Manager
Overview: Are you a skilled marketing writer who excels at transforming complex products and services into clear, engaging customer-facing communications? Our client is seeking a Product Communications Manager to help shape how riders experience and understand its autonomous ride-hailing service as it expands into new markets.
In this role, you will partner closely with Product, Marketing, Rider Operations, Customer Support, and Communications teams to develop compelling messaging across the customer journey. From product launches and feature announcements to rider education and service updates, you will help ensure that every customer touchpoint reflects the company's brand voice while building trust and excitement around the future of autonomous mobility.
The ideal candidate brings strong B2C copywriting experience, exceptional attention to detail, and a portfolio demonstrating the ability to create concise, customer-focused messaging for technology products and services.
Key Responsibilities
Create clear, compelling customer-facing marketing and product communications across email, web, app, launch, and service channels.
Develop messaging for new product features, service updates, and market launches that help customers understand and engage with the service.
Partner with Product, Marketing, Rider Operations, Customer Support, and Communications teams to translate complex information into simple, actionable customer messaging.
Support customer communication strategies for new city launches and service expansions, ensuring messaging is consistent, localized, and aligned with brand standards.
Write and maintain customer-facing content, including emails, website copy, launch announcements, FAQs, rider communications, and educational materials.
Create messaging frameworks and communications playbooks that support scalable customer experiences across multiple markets.
Help maintain and evolve brand voice across all rider-facing communications.
Review and edit content to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and alignment with product and business objectives.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Monitor upcoming product and service initiatives to proactively identify communication needs and support successful launches.
Required Qualifications
4-8 years of experience in product communications, product marketing, customer marketing, brand marketing, copywriting, or related fields.
Proven experience creating consumer-facing communications for technology, mobility, ecommerce, travel, fintech, subscription, or app-based businesses.
Strong portfolio demonstrating customer-focused writing across product launches, marketing campaigns, emails, websites, lifecycle communications, or customer education content.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities, with a talent for simplifying complex concepts.
Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Marketing, Operations, Customer Support, and Communications teams.
Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining brand consistency.
Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and adapt quickly to changing business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting product launches or go-to-market initiatives for consumer technology products.
Experience creating communications for mobile apps, transportation services, marketplace platforms, or subscription-based businesses.
Experience supporting market expansions, launches, or customer acquisition initiatives.
Familiarity with customer lifecycle marketing, CRM, email marketing, or retention programs.
Experience using AI-powered tools to improve content development and operational efficiency.
Previous experience in transportation, mobility, autonomous vehicles, or related technology sectors.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
