Job Description
E! is looking for a Commerce Writer/Editor to join its growing commerce business. This person will write, edit and optimize engaging shoppable content while taking on broader responsibilities across content merchandising, affiliate partnerships and day-to-day commerce operations. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and editor who is detail-oriented, curious and data-savvy, with an interest in using performance insights and affiliate strategy to create content that resonates with audiences and drives revenue.
Responsibilities
- Write, edit and optimize assigned and self-pitched e-commerce articles, aligning coverage with editorial calendars, franchises, tentpoles, seasonal moments and topic/product performance.
- Pitch and develop high-intent commerce stories based on consumer trends, search demand, real-time signals, affiliate performance and competitive coverage.
- Execute paid content, flat-fee product placements and other commerce partnerships, seamlessly integrating revenue-driving opportunities into daily editorial coverage while maintaining E!’s voice and editorial standards; assist with campaign and tentpole recaps, partner reporting and performance summaries.
- Book and interview celebrities, influencers and experts for original shoppable content, collaborating with social and video teams on opportunities for cross-platform amplification.
- Own product selection and merchandising within commerce content, using commission rates, EPC, conversion, retailer availability, promotions and audience relevance to strengthen monetization.
- Continuously optimize and refresh commerce content, including headlines, framing, product assortment, links, retailers and placements based on performance and changing shopping trends.
- Identify new commerce opportunities across products, retailers and categories by monitoring purchasing behavior, site and affiliate performance, competitive coverage and consumer trends.
- Support day-to-day affiliate operations, including link and tracking QA, retailer onboarding, commission and offer updates, partner records and internal documentation.
- Build relationships with affiliate partners, retailers and brands to surface new products, offers and revenue opportunities and support the onboarding and optimization of affiliate partners and shoppable platforms.
- Partner with the Growth Strategy Analyst and commerce leadership to interpret affiliate reporting and translate performance trends into actionable editorial, merchandising and optimization recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience as a shopping, pop culture or marketing writer
- Digitally savvy with experience creating content in a CMS for various digital & social media platforms and writing for SEO
- Excellent copy writing skills with brand-appropriate copy that drives action
- An idea-generator with opinions on how to meet and grow traffic and sales
- May be asked to work evenings and weekends

- Has an eye for trends, both in terms of lifestyle/fashion and pop culture
- Familiar with top entertainment and lifestyle sites and blogs, and with current celebrity news
- Photo & video editing with Canva, Photoshop, Premier Pro or similar a plus
Additional Requirements
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on business need. This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
- Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000
