Our client, who operates in all 50 states, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of
Senior Financial Analyst and Accountant (Sr. Analyst). The candidate who fills this position will
be responsible for assessing financial and fiscal health data. Activities that support this effort include ratio and trend analyses, audits to determine adequacy of internal controls and effectiveness of financial policies and procedures, planning and facilitating national conferences, and trainings of directors, members, and other leaders on financial topics. This position will support initiatives of the Office of the Treasurer and the Office of the CFO as well as other projects within the organization.
The Sr. Analyst is based in Washington, DC and must be willing to occasionally travel.
Excellent writing and analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills are essential. A willingness to do public speaking and training small to large groups is a must. The successful candidate must have a flexible approach for enabling organizational change and an aptitude for problem-solving along with the capacity to successfully engage with staff. This position is a high visibility position interacting with the Officers, Executive Committee, and Sr. Management.
Essential Job Functions:
• Analyze audit reports and assess overall fiscal and financial health by utilizing established ratios and trends analyses.
• Assess adequacy of internal controls,and effectiveness of policies and procedures.
• Help publish a monthly financial newsletter.
• Plan and facilitate multiple National trainings throughout the year.
• Create tools and handouts for to promote fiscal and financial health.
• Support the reporting and compliance function of subsidiaries.
• Support the Office of the Treasurer.
• Annually complete the fidelity bond application for insurance renewal.
Qualifications and Experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in accounting with knowledge of
financial reporting, budget preparation, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to solve problems independently and make sound decisions.
• Advanced skills in the use of MS-Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
tools.
• Ability to present complex financial information to an audience with varying levels of
technical understanding.
• Strong organizational skills demonstrated by the ability to oversee multiple projects
simultaneously with an ability to follow through and meet deadlines.
