The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) is looking for candidates to enhance its Development and Sponsorship Department. NSAI is the world’s largest not-for-profit songwriters trade association, and the work of the Development team aids in funding and advancing the work of NSAI to advocate, educate, elevate, and celebrate songwriters. NSAI is comprised of a small team of hard-working, passionate, multi-talented staff members who enjoy music, collaboration, delivering excellent service, and find value in supporting songwriters and the music industry.
The Development Coordinator reports to the Director of Development and will work in tandem with the Director to advance the organization continually and creatively through strategic partnerships. The Coordinator will also work as part of the Events team that executes Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival, the Nashville Songwriter Awards, an annual Song Contest and more.
The Sponsorship Coordinator position is a full-time, hybrid role based in Nashville, Tennessee. This position offers the ability to work remotely approximately 60% of the time, as well as dedicated office space within the organization’s headquarters. Upon joining the team, the Coordinator should expect to work in-office through the initial training period before transitioning to partially remote work.
CORE COORDINATOR DUTIES:
Include, but are not limited to the following.
- Assist with partnership account management
- This can include scheduling, meetings, invoicing, written agreements, etc.
- Responsible for all partner contract fulfillment
- Management and implementation of all marketing and social media elements; spreadsheet tracking and organization; basic webpage management
- Assist with distribution of event tickets
- Assist with special event planning and execution
- Responsible for NSAI membership benefits and discounts
- Management and execution of annual Song Contest partnerships
- Ownership over a selection of trade partner accounts
- Preparation of pitch decks and sponsorship packages
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills; must be an effective communicator.
- Possess the skills necessary to “sell” the organization, its mission, and events across multiple avenues such as phone, e-mail, in-person, and online interactions.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks for maximum efficiency.
- Skilled at time management. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicate progress and deliver on time.
- Takes direction when given with the ability to self-manage projects from start to finish.
- Takes pride and ownership over assignments while able to maintain flexibility and adhere to existing systems as needed.
- Maintains a positive attitude, prioritizes professionalism, shows concern for people and community, works well in a team environment.
- Demonstrates presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening ability.
- Highly computer literate. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Canva.
- Graphic design skills are not a requirement but are a plus. At minimum, an eye for design and layout are useful across Coordinator responsibilities.
- Immaculate attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of social media management; copywriting for social media.
- Must not be actively pursuing professional songwriting goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Director of Development with overall management of NSAI partnerships.
- Solely manage contract fulfillment for all Corporate Partners year-round; Assist Director of Development with execution and fulfillment of event sponsorships as assigned.
- Responsible for maintaining regular, thorough tracking of partner contract inclusions and execution of contracted elements.
- Consistently collect marketing and promotional assets from clients; schedule and implement sponsor inclusions across NSAI website, NSAI event websites, newsletter, social media platforms, and the like.
- Create sponsorship pitches, agreements, and invoices as assigned.
- Issue invoices to clients year-round; track open invoices regularly, communicate with partners to ensure prompt payment.
- Regularly review accounts and payments with Director; Collaborate to assess areas of need and opportunities.
- Work within brand guidelines for a variety of major partners to deliver seamless brand inclusions within NSAI marketing and events.
- Manage the sponsorship pages of the NSAI website with both the Director of Development and Director of Creative and Communications, keeping the sponsor listings up to date on a regular basis.
- Management and execution of annual Song Contest partnerships in support of national competition.
- Manage, maintain, and grow NSAI membership benefits and discounts that bring value to NSAI members.
- Serve as the primary contact responsible for management, maintenance, and fulfillment of a selection of existing trade partnerships; Prospect, outreach, and contract new trade partnerships across a variety of industries.
- Research and develop ideas for partnerships, promotions, and advertising avenues on an ongoing basis.
- Actively participate in events and administrative team meetings to understand upcoming project needs and deadlines.
- Participate in editing, proofreading, and publishing content across a variety of mediums: website, email, graphics, decks, Word Docs, etc.
