First Responders Children’s Foundation Spring 2026 Digital Marketing Intern
Location: Remote. Strong consideration will be given to candidates able to work one day per week in our NYC office or who are children of first responders
Reports to: Digital Content Manager
Term: January–April, with exact start and end dates coordinated with the selected candidate

First Responders Children’s Foundation is seeking a creative, motivated Spring Digital Marketing Intern to support our social media, email marketing, and storytelling efforts. This role is ideal for someone passionate about social media, copywriting, design, and digital engagement who is eager to build a strong professional portfolio while contributing to a mission-driven national nonprofit.
As an intern, you will work closely with the Digital Content Manager to maintain the social media calendar, draft compelling copy, design branded assets, support email campaigns, and help produce short-form video content.
This is an unpaid internship for college credit only.
What You’ll Do
Content Creation & Social Media
Draft, edit, and route engaging copy for social media posts
Design branded graphics and video content using Canva
Adapt visuals to fit platform-specific formats (Reels, Stories, Feed)
Organize assets and copy for weekly social content calendars
Email Marketing
Draft copy/graphics for promotional, newsletter, and automated email campaigns
Design and format branded email templates to align with campaign goals and brand standards
Schedule, segment, and track email sends in Klaviyo to maximize reach and engagement
Short-Form Video Production
Brainstorm and pitch creative short-form video ideas for events and campaigns,
including the Foundation’s upcoming 25th anniversary
Assist with filming and/or editing on-site and behind-the-scenes content
Research Instagram Reels and TikTok trends to inform strategy
Who You Are
- A current college student or recent graduate studying or interested in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field
- Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences (media, donors, social followers)
- Strong skills with Canva and basic video editing tools (CapCut, Adobe Express, iMovie, etc.)
- Creative thinker with a knack for storytelling and attention to detail
- Organized, proactive, and tuned in to current media and social trends
