SUMMARY:
Conducts essential functions and projects as support staff to the Director of Development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Embraces and assures that department goals are aligned with Alivio Medical Center’s mission, goals and objectives.
Grants
· Conducts prospect research on foundations, corporations, and individuals to identify potential supporters
· Maintains donor (ResultsPlus)database, which includes, data entry and report generation
· Maintains calendar of grant proposal and Letters of Intent due dates for submission and reports
· Assists in the writing, research, and submission of grant proposals
· Completes donor reports to foundations and corporations as required
· Assists in the electronic submission of government grants, reports and other submissions
Annual Fund/Major Gifts/Capital Campaign
· Manages all aspects of direct mail solicitation projects
· Assists in launching online appeals and planned/bequest gifts program
· Interfaces with individual donors and helps coordinate activities of the Amigos de Alivio
· Assists in all aspects of implementing a Capital Campaign
· Documents all cultivation strategies, conversations, meetings, events, etc. on the Results Plus donor database so as to establish and maintain a “moves” management system
Marketing/Communications
· Assists in creation of marketing materials, including a semi-annual newsletter (Saludos); e-newsletter, quarterly employee newsletter, and annual report
· Assist in maintaining the agency’s website; including updating textual and photographic content.
· Maintains agency’s electric signage
· Ensure adequate inventory of up-to-date collateral materials, such as corporate informational packet and agency brochures
· Assist in preparation and submission of press releases to all media – print, radio, television, online
· Tracks all media coverage related to Alivio Medical Center
Special Events
· Work in tandem with the Director of Development to plan and execute all aspects of the agency’s annual benefit; including sponsorship solicitation; tracking and design of program adbook; coordinating with all vendors; and all other details inherent in event planning.
· Assists designated staff to coordinate the fundraising and marketing efforts of the annual Alivio Y Salud 5K Run for Health.
· Assists in organizing and coordinating other types of Special Events such as press conferences, symposiums, festival participation.
Other Administrative Duties
· Processes all contributions which may be received via regular mail, online, or in person. Contributions include those gifts made for grant-funded programs, individual giving, direct mail appeals, general operations, Alivio’s annual benefit, and Alivio’s annual 5K run donations, etc. Contributions may be received as checks, credit card payments, debit card transactions, or cash. Records all pertinent information on Alivio’s donor database (Results Plus) and send acknowledgement letters.
· Must be able to generate reports on any donor easily and accurately.
· Maintains development department files. Including organizational financial files (annual audits, financial statements)
· Ensure adequate inventory of stationery, envelopes, and general office supplies.
· Functions as administrative assistant to the Development Department
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
This position requires compliance with all of Alivio’s written standards, including its Standards of Conduct, Joint Commission standards, all policies and procedures and Corporate Compliance requirements. Compliance will be considered as part of the regular performance evaluation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages and supervises staff listed below, including hiring, training, evaluating and managing performance to meet departmental efficiency and performance measures in keeping with the Union Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), Personnel Policies and Procedures and prevailing employment laws as appropriate

WORKING CONDITIONS:
OSHA Category 3 – Involves no regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues are not a condition of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree (English, Marketing, Communications or related field
Experience:
- Two years experience in fundraising, experience in marketing a plus
Special Training:
- Experience with donor management software preferred (Results Plus, Raisers Edge) preferred
Demonstrated Competencies:
- Excellent organizational, writing and communication skills, strong orientation to detail, and computer knowledgeable. Must be personable and outgoing and able to work well with staff, Board of Directors, Donors, and other volunteers. Must be able to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity. Must be able to meet deadlines. Must exhibit independence and self-initiative. Bilingual/Spanish preferred.
