Rainier Athletes (RA) champions the unlimited possibility of our youth in and out of the classroom by igniting connection through 1:1 mentorship, self-discovery, and access to opportunity. Each RA student is paired with a dedicated mentor who meets with them weekly, from 4th grade through high school graduation and beyond. Students are fully sponsored to participate in the sports and activities of their choice, from robotics to baseball.
Our org was founded in 2013 with one mentor and three students at one school, and now we’ve grown to a community of over 1,000 students, mentors, family members, teachers, and coaches at 15 sites across the Bellevue School District. This past year, RA’s first cohort of students graduated from college!

+ Position Summary
With a focus on administration and development, the Development Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director, Director of Development Systems and Communications, the Manager of Community Investments to support RA’s revenue and resource development goals. Duties will include: ensuring the organization’s data is accurate, assisting with donor communications, providing logistical support for fundraising events and campaigns, leading administrative projects that streamline the team’s work, and other projects, as assigned.
+ Responsibilities & Duties
Development Coordination (70%)
- Ensure a timely and accurate gift entry and acknowledgement process for all gifts, including documentation and follow up of verbal and written pledges, as well as in-kind donations.
- Send thank you letters in a timely manner.
- Support efforts to create new materials/messaging for first-time donors; acknowledge special donor anniversaries or other creative milestones.
- Ensure that information in the Salesforce CRM is accurate and complete; work with the Director of Development Systems and Communications to ensure email newsletter lists are up to date.
- Work with the Director of Development Systems and Communications to continuously improve database processes and tracking, including updating gift entry policies as needed.
- Generate regular fundraising reports, including campaign specific reports.
- Support the Director of Development Systems and Communications with monthly gift receipt and pledge reconciliation with the bookkeeper.
- Assist with researching, building, and maintaining donor and prospect lists and files. Collaborate with the Executive Director and Manager of Community Investments to track moves management steps for donors.
- Support with grant reports and administration of grant proposals, as needed.
- Support planning and implementation of organization’s special events, including record keeping and logistics.
- Prepare solicitation lists for campaigns and coordinate data needs for email and direct mail efforts.
Administrative Support and Cross-Team Collaboration (20%)
- Respond to external inquiries from hello@rainierathletes.org email address.
- Provide scheduling and communication support to Leadership Team, as needed.
- Take notes during meetings.
- Support with preparation for board meetings and Development Committee meetings.
- Support Operations and Community teams, as needed.

+Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred
- Administrative experience required
- Two years experience in non-profit fundraising preferred
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (slides, docs, spreadsheets, email, and calendar) and Smartsheet preferred
- Proficiency in Salesforce preferred
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized
- Demonstrated “self-starter,” ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands
- Enjoys working with data and finding efficiencies
- Experience working on a small team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Flexible schedule, availability to assist with the occasional evening/weekend events
- Team player who is open to feedback and self-improvement
