What You’ll Do
Social Media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Substack)
- Draft short-form posts, carousels, and captions aligned to founder/brand voice.
- Build/manage a weekly content calendar for brand social channels; draft and schedule posts and track deadlines.
- Source ideas from news, client activity, and industry conversations.
- Community management: reply to comments/DMs, surface opportunities, escalate issues.
- Pull basic analytics (reach, engagement, CTR) and suggest improvements.
PR & Content
- Research and build media, awards and events lists.
- Monitor daily news/trends; flag timely angles and reactive commentary ideas.
- Track coverage, maintain a press log, compile simple performance recaps.
- Draft/refine email pitches, update emails, and briefing notes.
- Write/edit short- and long-form content: blogs, bylines/op-eds, newsletters.
- Set up and manage newsletter workflows (LinkedIn, Substack, etc.)
- Assist with media + events outreach, call scheduling, managing follow-ups, etc.
Project & Operations
- Weekly and ad hoc check-ins; own action items and meet deadlines.
- Keep files tidy: naming conventions, version control, link hygiene.
- Maintain confidentiality for client work (NDA provided).
Tools & Platforms You’ll Use
Generative AI & Research
- LLMs: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, etc. (for idea generation, outlines, first drafts, scans).
- News aggregation: Google News, Talkwalker Alerts, Feedly, Apple News
- Standards: fact-check AI outputs; verify/cite sources, and show work.
Media & Podcast Databases
- MuckRack (media database) for list building and beat tracking.
- Rephonic (podcast database) for show/producer research.
- Qwoted/HARO/Source of Sources for direct media outreach and inbound opportunities.
Content Development & Production
- Canva for graphics/carousels/templates.
- Riverside/OpusClip for remote recording support + editing
- Fathom for call notes and recordings
- Google Workspace (Docs/Sheets/Drive) for drafting/collab.
Social Scheduling & Analytics
- Buffer and Publer for scheduling/queues/UTMs/basic analytics.
- Native platform analytics (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Substack) to complement scheduler reports.
Time & Workflow
- Toggl Track for timekeeping (categorize by client/project; weekly submission).
- Motion for task scheduling and organization.
What You’ll Learn
- Social content strategy for founder, agency and client executive visibility.
- Up close look at how to develop PR strategy and translate into daily execution.
- Story and message development: turning ideas into newsworthy angles.
- How to interact with news media and influencers (online, broadcast, social).
- Basic analytics and reporting using data to iterate content.
- Professional workflow habits in a fast-moving agency environment.
Ideal Academic Background
- Junior (rising senior) undergrad or graduate student in PR, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Strong writing (clear, concise; AP style familiarity).
- Curious, organized, eager to learn; comfortable asking for feedback.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities and deliver quality work on deadline.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, MS Office Suite + agency toolstack
- Interest in B2B topics: technology, healthcare, nonprofit, small business, finance/fintech, HR and more.
Nice-to-Have
- Graphic design and video editing experience (Canva, Adobe, etc.)
- Familiarity with Substack, basic email platforms (Mailchimp, etc.), or CMS.
- Exposure to media databases, social schedulers, survey or CRM tools.
- Campus publication, agency, or small business experience.

Time Commitment & Expectations

- Turnaround times vary; occasional same-day needs (we plan ahead whenever possible).
