Communications and Development Coordinator
Position description
The Communications and Development Coordinator oversees all league communications, content creation, fundraising, and the acquisition of grants and sponsors. They work closely with the League Director and NICA’s Communications and Marketing Manager.

Key responsibilities- Communications and Marketing: Support the League Director in all communications and marketing efforts.
- Content and Asset Creation: Manage the league’s social media, press releases, and monthly newsletters across multiple platforms and for various audiences. Create appealing on-brand marketing assets to support the league and program leads.
- Grant and Sponsorship Acquisition: Research, identify, and write compelling grant proposals that align with the league's mission and values. Research, identify, and cultivate relationships with new and existing sponsors to secure funding and in-kind support.
- Fundraising and Donor Stewardship: Manage league fundraising campaigns, including the Share the Ride campaign and Trek Giveaway, to successfully meet annual goals and effectively steward donor relationships.
- Content and Resource Management: Assist in creating and updating all outward-facing league documents and resources, ensuring they remain accurate and align with brand, mission and values.
- Event Communication: Manage communication of mid-event changes including updates on weather, emergencies, and schedule changes, across all platforms including event flyers, TeamSnap, and the league website.
- Publish monthly league newsletter (Singletrack Times), as well as dedicated monthly updates for Team Directors/Head Coaches, GRiT, Adventure, and Teen Trail Corps coaches, in collaboration with program leads and the League Director.
- Maintain consistent and clear communication with the League Director, Associate League Director, and all program coordinators.
- Perform regular reporting and analytics across all platforms to develop and implement growth and engagement strategies in concert with the League Director, Associate League Director and program leads.
Key Qualities- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to craft clear and compelling content for various platforms.
- Expertise in social media, graphic design, and other digital media; including proficiency with Adobe application, Canva Teams, Monday.com, Gemini (or similar AI tools) G-Suite and applications, a working knowledge of Iterable, HubSpot and RallyUp is a plus.
- Creative, with a passion for storytelling and NICA’s mission and values.
- Ability to develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Experience in building relationships with the media and managing public perception.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adjust strategies based on feedback and changing circumstances.
- Ability to use league images and branding appropriately and write engaging social media captions.
- A genuine passion for NICA's core values, youth development, and getting more kids on bikes.
Commitment- Available to attend all preseason events and regular season event weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Reliable transportation and ability to travel a must.
- Manage all league social media platforms, ensuring professional, on-brand, and engaging content that aligns with the league's mission and values.
- Publish monthly league newsletter (Singletrack Times), as well as dedicated monthly updates for Team Directors/Head Coaches, GRiT, Adventure, and Teen Trail Corps coaches, in collaboration with program leads and the League Director.
- Attend regular evening Zoom calls, including weekly staff and committee calls and monthly NICA National calls relevant to the role.
- Background check will need to be processed (required for work with student athletes).
Compensation- This is a part-time position with a salary of $15,000 annually
