Job Title: Seasonal Recreation Intern
Department: Parks, Trails & Recreation
Supervisor: Recreation Supervisor
SALARY RANGE: $16.00 – $21.00 per hour
This is a part-time/hourly position
BENEFITS: Partially benefited. Partially benefited part-time employees earn 1 sick leave hour for every 30 hours worked. Up to 48 hours can be rolled over per year.
REMOTE/HYBRID: Typical schedules are in-person at Greenwood Village facilities.
RELOCATION: This position is located in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Relocation assistance is not provided.

About The Role
As a Recreation Intern, you will provide program oversight for youth and adult sports programs and assist with Village special events. This position offers hands-on experience in recreation management and event coordination, making it ideal for individuals passionate about sports, community engagement, and customer service.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide on-site supervision for youth and adult sports programs.
- Prepare fields and equipment, including lining fields, setting up nets, and conducting safety checks.
- Manage game result sheets, participant waivers, and league documentation.
- Serve as a liaison between participants and the City, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Prepare and distribute promotional materials and communicate event details to media sources.
- Assist with special events, including booth operations, giveaways, check-ins, food service, and setup/takedown.
- Support administrative functions such as registration, newsletter contributions, and front desk assistance.
- Officiate games for adult sports programs.
What We’re Looking For
Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of sports rules (softball, volleyball, kickball, basketball).
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and set up sports equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accurate record-keeping.
Education & Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Some experience in recreation, particularly teaching or supervising youth and adult activities.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
Working Conditions
Work is performed indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions. Requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and occasional extended hours.
