Pluralis Research is pioneering Protocol Learning—a fully decentralised way to train and deploy AI models that opens this layer to individuals rather than well-resourced corporates. By pooling compute from many participants, incentivising their efforts, and preventing any single party from controlling a model's full weights, we're creating a genuinely open, collaborative path to frontier-scale AI.
Overview
We're looking for a Marketing Manager to build and scale the Pluralis community, voice, and presence from the ground up. You'll own our Discord and Twitter/X, turn frontier research into clear, high-signal content, support partnerships, and help expand our footprint across the global AI ecosystem. We want someone who thinks like a builder—constantly testing channels, spotting signal early, and helping us double down on what actually drives growth, credibility, and industry presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Ownership: Manage Discord, build Twitter/X presence, and engage in relevant technical communities (Hacker News, Reddit, AI forums). Be the connective tissue between Pluralis and the broader AI and decentralised systems communities.
- Content & Messaging: Turn research into blogs, threads, and videos. Translate technical work for different audiences—from ML researchers to crypto-native builders to mainstream tech followers. Maintain content calendar and visual brand consistency.
- Owned Channels: Build email lists, create and run a newsletter, optimise media channels, and develop multimedia content that cuts through the noise.
- Growth & Analytics: Track metrics across channels, run experiments, and optimise for discoverability. Know what's working and double down; know what's not and kill it.
- Partnership Support: Create co-marketing materials and coordinate announcements with ecosystem partners.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor and track ecosystem trends. Feed positioning insights to leadership so we stay ahead of the conversation.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 4+ years in marketing, growth, or community at tech companies. AI, dev tools, infrastructure, or open source experience strongly preferred.
- Terminally Online: Deeply native understanding of Twitter, Discord, and emergent technical communities. But also comfortable with traditional channels: email marketing, SEO, basic video and multimedia production.
- Technical Comfort: Can understand and explain what we're building. Comfortable engaging with research papers and technical concepts—you don't need to be an ML engineer, but you need to hold your own in technical conversations.
- AI-Native: We're looking for someone who understands how to use agents and tools to maximise output. If you're not already using AI to 10x your work, this probably isn't the right fit.
- Self-Directed: Owns outcomes, operates independently, strategic but with hands-on execution. We're a small team—you'll have a lot of autonomy and responsibility.
- Fun: While this role communicates serious ideas, we find our work genuinely exciting. We want you to approach this role with enthusiasm and creativity.
- Bonus Points: AI/ML background, developer relations experience, owned community channels.
What we offer
- Equity-Heavy Package: We offer meaningful ownership for key contributors.
- Competitive Base: Pluralis is hiring the best.
- Remote-First Culture: Flexible work environment with team members distributed in Australia and the United States. This is a full-time, remote position with the opportunity to collaborate with the team in person on a quarterly basis.
FYI's
- We only hire in Australia and the United States. US-based strongly preferred for this role.
- Applicants must have professional-level English proficiency (written and spoken).
- Pluralis is a remote team across Australia and the US. You'll need to be comfortable working across timezones and collaborating with a diverse, distributed group.
- Recruiters: we aren't looking for agency support at this time. We'll reach out if we need help.
Backed by Union Square Ventures and other tier-1 investors, we're a world-class, deeply technical team of ML researchers. Pluralis is unapologetically ideological. We view the world as a better place if we are able to implement what we are attempting, and Protocol Learning as the only plausible approach to preventing a handful of massive corporations monopolising model development, access and release, and achieving massive economic capture. If this resonates, please apply.
