Location: 2-3 days a week onsite in Chicago, open to relocation
The Lifecycle & Retention Specialist will execute and optimize email, SMS, and subscription lifecycle programs that support customer retention and lifetime value growth.
This role is highly hands-on. You will build campaigns and flows, manage segmentation, run experiments, and analyze performance. You will work closely with the Lifecycle Manager to implement the retention strategy and ensure lifecycle initiatives drive measurable impact.
This is an execution-focused role with strong analytical exposure and growth potential.
Responsibilities:
- Execute email & SMS campaigns and automated lifecycle flows
- Build and manage campaign calendar aligned to launches and retention priorities
- Implement segmentation strategies and maintain list hygiene
- Run A/B tests and optimize performance
- Execute subscription messaging (save, skip, win-back, replenishment)
- Maintain lifecycle dashboards and support cohort analysis
- Conduct research to identify relevant newsletter topics and retention moments
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in lifecycle, CRM, email, or retention marketing
- Experience with SMS platforms such as Klaviyo
- Familiarity with Shopify ecosystem
- Strong comfort with data and spreadsheets
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Curious and eager to learn advanced retention strategy
- Experience in DTC, CPG, beauty, or wellness is strongly preferred
