Job Description
MS NOW is looking for an experienced Digital Producer for MS NOW Morning Joe.
This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.
Responsibilities
- Help lead the social media strategy for Morning Joe and the show’s corresponding portfolios (including ‘Know Your Value’)
- Work with the EPs and senior staff in turning show moments into social media posts
- Produce, create, and post new digital and social media content
- Work with PR on amplifying key social media content
- Contribute to the show's newsletter, 'The Tea'
- Produce, develop, create, and edit editorial content, including text, photo, and video for multiple platforms
- Responsible for growing audience engagement and interaction online and broadcast
- Works in editor capacity with host and senior producers to develop and refine editorial tone and voice through its daily blogs and social media outlets
- Publishes the show for the network platforms, edits content from the show to be repackaged for off-network/social platforms/OTT
- Manages social distribution
- Researches, writes articles, and blog posts
- Innovate and propose new ways to extend the show and brand
- Speedy decision-making and quick reactions to newsworthy/fresh topics
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines
- Produce and manage the show podcast
- Deliver digital content to sponsor page
- Comply with the Standards and Practices of Versant Media
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of web content or editorial experience
- Minimum 2 year of experience in writing and editing and familiarity with online content communities
- Familiarity with television and digital production procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well both independently (must be a self-starter) and collaboratively as part of an integrated team
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Possess ability to develop story ideas, research, and plan segments.
- Knowledge of current events, politics, and pop culture.
- Wide-range reader of news, including op-eds.
- Proficient in both tape and desktop editing.
Additional Job Requirements
- Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
Salary Range: $93,000-$110,000
