Our team is seeking an experienced Internal Communications Consultant with a strong background in information security and organizational change management for a remote contract role. This position is ideal for a communications specialist with IT security expertise who is comfortable leading change in a technology-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Write regular internal newsletter articles, develop content for security awareness, and support special communications projects.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to explain complex technical topics (such as GitHub functions) clearly for a non-technical audience.
- Execute and report on phishing campaigns and other security awareness initiatives.
- Build and analyze metrics from security programs using tools like Tableau for ongoing reporting and improvement.
- Support organizational change efforts through proven frameworks (e.g., PROSCI, ADKAR), including designing and delivering communication and training to support change initiatives.
- Develop and maintain documentation and training materials for security programs.
- Analyze contracts and support project documentation as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in internal communications, preferably with a background in information security or technology.
- Ability to digest technical information and translate it into clear, accessible messaging.
- Familiarity with SOC and GRC concepts and/or direct involvement with security awareness programs is highly desired.
- Experience working with change management methodologies (such as PROSCI and ADKAR).
- Comfortable building and interpreting metrics in platforms like Tableau.
- Demonstrated ability to run security awareness campaigns, including simulated phishing exercises.
- Strong writing skills and portfolio of newsletter or internal communications work.
- Technical aptitude – ability to understand IT concepts, though technical hands-on work is not required.
- Self-motivated, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience working in or with security awareness programs.
- Microcredentials in cybersecurity or cloud fundamentals.
- Certified Change Management Professional designation.
