Job Summary:
The Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce (GAACC) seeks a dynamic and creative Communications and Marketing Intern to support the organization’s marketing efforts.
The Communications and Marketing Intern works with the VP of Marketing and Communications on GAACC marketing campaigns. This includes promotions for various events and ongoing projects, social media posts, writing/curating articles for the GAACC newsletter, website updates, video production, and member engagement/support activities.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced role and is an exceptional team player with strong communication and organizational skills. Successful candidates will need a familiarity with the use of AI tools for content creation and project management (or an enthusiasm to learn). Experience includes marketing and communications, promotional campaigns, and creation of multimedia and graphics assets.

Job description:
This position reports to the Vice President, Marketing and Communications, and assists with the development and execution of marketing and communications assignments. Under that guidance, this position also works with GAACC staff to develop marketing ideas for events and programs which include but are not limited to, GAACC-hosted events, Membership Committee programs, and GAACC partner programs/events.
The candidate must weave creative ideas and concrete data together to create marketing materials (graphics, copy, video, etc.) to support campaigns. A successful candidate will be able to manage their time effectively with overlapping marketing campaigns. The candidate must actively strive to contribute towards a positive, professional, and respectful work environment and embrace the all-in commitment required to make GAACC a successful organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with GAACC Communication Platforms:
- Social Media: Create graphic design, copywriting, publishing, and community engagement activities for GAACC's three social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram).
- GAACC Newsletter: Conduct graphic design, copywriting, and production (in Mailchimp) for the GAACC Weekly Newsletter.
- Video production for social media, podcasts, member spotlight materials, etc.
- Assist with GAACC Marketing Campaigns: support multiple simultaneous marketing campaigns for events and initiatives as needed.
- Create post-campaign Marketing Analysis: create marketing campaign performance reports to provide data and recommendations for future campaigns.
- Develop content for GAACC Blog.
- Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will:

- Demonstrate working knowledge of Canva, Google Suite/Workplace, Slack, video production tools (CapCut, etc.) and other production and collaboration tools.
- Ability to understand and learn constituent relationship management (CRM) platforms (e.g.: GrowthZone, ChamberMaster, Salesforce)
- Enjoy working collaboratively within a team, demonstrating good judgment and willingness to follow instructions, take initiative, and work together.
Minimum qualifications:
- Previous marketing and/or communication experience.
- Excellent demonstrable written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree AND 1+ years demonstrable experience in marketing and communication.
- Demonstrated writing skills (English)
- Working knowledge of Canva, Mailchimp, GrowthZone CRM platform, Social Media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram).
- Experience with strategic initiatives and managing target objectives using teamwork/project management tools like Notion, Asana, Slack, etc.
- Experience with generating reports and communicating briefs and impact progress analysis.
Pay: $15 per week
Schedule:
- 25-29 hours per week
- Primarily in-person
- Virtual work flexibility with prior communication
- 6-month internship with potential for full-time hire
