About Circus Juventas
Circus Juventas is a nonprofit youth circus arts organization located in St. Paul, Minnesota. Since its founding in 1994, the organization has grown into a vibrant arts community, serving over 1,000 youth annually in its permanent big top. Offering programs such as after-school classes, summer camps, and awe-inspiring performances, Circus Juventas is dedicated to promoting artistry and boosting self-confidence among its students. About the Role
Join Circus Juventas during our busiest and most exciting season! The Development Events Intern supports major fundraising and patron experiences, including the Big Top Ball and Blaze Balcony, while gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit development, events, and communications. This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in arts administration, nonprofit fundraising, event planning, or marketing/communications.
This position reports to the Development Director and works closely with the Development and Volunteer Coordinator, gaining direct mentorship and cross-functional experience.
What You’ll Do
- Support Big Top Ball planning and execution, with a focus on silent auction coordination (donor follow-up, item tracking, data entry, and procurement support)
- Assist with pickup and transportation of auction items as needed
- Take notes and track action items during event planning meetings
- Coordinate information across internal teams and external partners
- Assist with Development and Communications content, including social media coordination and e-newsletter support
- Produce and organize donor thank-you letters
- Support the Blaze Balcony patron experience during summer performances (Thursday–Sunday evenings)
- Provide general administrative and project support as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Interest in nonprofit development, fundraising, events, or communications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Availability for evening shifts during summer performances (Thursday–Sunday)
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local item pickup
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry items up to approximately 25 lbs
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods during events
- Ability to travel locally for donation pickup and event support
