Mission Animal Hospital is seeking a creative and versatile Communications Coordinator to serve as our primary storyteller. This role is designed for a multi-talented professional who can move seamlessly between a graphic design workstation and the hospital floor to capture the heart of our mission. You will be responsible for creating high-impact visual and written content that inspires donors, informs the community, and strengthens our brand across all digital and print platforms.

- Wage: $24-26/hour, DOE
- Hours: 40 hours/week, typical schedule Monday-Friday, 9am - 5pm. Evening and weekend hours as needed for job duties or events.
- Reports to: Director of Development
Responsibilities:
1. Brand Design & Creative Services
- Graphic Design: Lead the design and production of high-quality collateral, including email and direct mail appeals, annual reports, clinic signage, and event materials.
- Brand Alignment: Ensure a consistent visual identity and "Mission voice" across all mediums, including email, website, social media, and print.
- Digital Content: Design engaging assets for the website and paid/boosted social media campaigns to promote the organization’s stories and events.
2. Storytelling & Content Strategy
- On-Site Content Capture: Collaborate with hospital staff to identify compelling patient and client stories. This includes taking compelling photographs and videos of animals in our care.
- Narrative Writing: Write emotionally resonant copy for the monthly donor newsletter, blog, and multi-channel fundraising appeals.
- Social Media Management: Lead the Social Media Team to create content and implement a strategy that drives engagement and supports fundraising goals.
3. Multi-Channel Communications
- Email Marketing: Create and execute a comprehensive email schedule, including newsletters and special appeals.
- Website Management: Maintain the organization’s blog and update website content to reflect current campaigns and news.
- Ad Strategy: Manage digital marketing efforts, including social media campaigns and Google Ads.
4. Development Operations
- Gift Processing: Ensure the timely and accurate entry of all donations into the EveryAction CRM.
- Donor Stewardship: Execute the timely gift acknowledgement process, ensuring every donor receives a high-quality, meaningful thank-you.
- Reporting: Maintain the Fundraising Dashboard and "Mission By the Numbers" to track communication and fundraising efficacy.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3–5 years in communications, marketing, or graphic design, preferably within a nonprofit setting.
- Education: A degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, or Digital Media.
- Technical Skills: * Proficiency in graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite or similar).
- Experience with photography and video content creation.
- Familiarity with CRM software and email marketing platforms.
- Communication: Exceptional writing skills with the ability to tell stories that move people to action.
- Mindset: A positive "can-do" attitude is a must. Personal experience with pets and an understanding of the human-pet bond is strongly preferred.
Final candidates will be asked to complete a brief creative exercise (e.g., a sample social media post or a short writing piece) to demonstrate their design and storytelling style.
