About the Role
A well-established national nonprofit association is seeking a Museum & Archives Coordinator to support historical projects, museum exhibits, communications initiatives, and research efforts related to the organization’s history and annual events. This is a unique opportunity for someone interested in communications, public history, museums, research, and project coordination within a collaborative association environment.
This role works closely with physicians, historians, committees, and internal teams to coordinate exhibits, manage historical information requests, and help translate technical medical history into engaging content for web, social media, and museum-related materials.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate annual museum exhibits and history-related projects from planning through execution
- Serve as a liaison between internal teams, volunteer committees, physicians, and historians
- Conduct historical research using archives, meeting records, and museum resources
- Respond to research and information requests related to the organization’s history
- Assist with museum tours and visitor engagement
- Coordinate exhibit timelines, meetings, and project deliverables
- Help adapt technical or academic content into audience-friendly communications and social media content
- Assist with website content updates and newsletter coordination
- Support annual meeting exhibit planning and related event logistics
- Maintain historical documents, records, and museum materials
- Assist with supervising interns or temporary staff as needed
- Collaborate with communications and marketing teams on engagement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education
- Experience in communications, museums, archives, public history, nonprofits, associations, or project coordination preferred
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Social media or digital content experience preferred
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable interacting with physicians, committees, visitors, and internal stakeholders
- Research-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Interest in history, museums, healthcare, or educational environments is a plus
$30/hr | 6 Month Temp-to-Hire | Converts to $73,000-$75,000
