Job Description
Marketing Specialist
Ascendco is seeking a driven and resourceful Marketing Specialist to own our digital content and social media presence. This is an entry-level role suited to a highly organized, self-directed individual who is comfortable operating with ambiguity and eager to grow into a broader marketing career. Joining a close-knit marketing team of three, you will develop the content that supports our sales and education teams, spanning social media, sales enablement materials, and the company's content calendar.
The ideal candidate brings strong organizational and analytical instincts alongside marketing fundamentals. A stylistic eye is a plus, but the priority is a proactive, adaptable multitasker who can manage competing priorities with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Social Media
- Manage and maintain the content calendar, including scheduling social media posts.
- Create and publish social media content, including live coverage during conferences and events.
- Write and produce one case study per month.
- Draft and send a monthly newsletter.
- Build PowerPoint presentations and decks using tools like Canva, PowerPoint, and Claude / Claude Design.
Sales Enablement & Cross-Functional Support
- Create content and materials based on needs identified in sales meetings.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales and Education teams to understand and anticipate content needs.
- Support market research to ensure content stays relevant and timely.
Learning & Professional Development
- Develop familiarity with Ascendco's products, audience, and industry trends to improve content quality.
- Participate actively in team meetings and cross-functional planning sessions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred; open to candidates with strong relevant skills in lieu of a degree.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask across multiple ongoing projects.
- Resourceful and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and operate well in ambiguity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales and Education.
- Familiarity with (or willingness to quickly learn) Canva, PowerPoint, and Claude / Claude Design.
- A good stylistic/design eye is a plus but not required.
- Confident, adaptable, and a strong multitasker.
What We Offer
- Hands-on training and mentorship across marketing, sales, and content creation.
- Exposure to cross-functional work with Sales and Education teams.
- Opportunity to shape and own the company's digital content and social media presence.
- Career growth opportunities within marketing or related teams.
