Applied General Agency (AGA) is looking for an experienced, sharp, and innovative Email Marketing Specialist to help improve company communications and brand awareness.
This position will be required to oversee all aspects of email marketing. A successful Email Marketing Specialist will prove their ability to compose engaging content, on-brand design, and high performing campaigns.
Overview
The Email Marketing Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Marketing department at Applied General Agency (AGA). This position is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of various email campaigns, including email inbox management, event marketing promotion (e-blasts), drip emails, and recruitment focused content.
Primary Responsibilities Include
- Designing and implementing direct email marketing campaigns.
- Collaborating with the Marketing team to ensure brand consistency.
- Ensuring emails follow industry policies and best practices.
- Distributing emails using automation software (MailChimp & HotSol).
- Developing mobile-friendly email templates.
- Proofreading emails for clarity, grammar, and spelling.
- Enhancing existing email templates with graphics, personalization, and advanced features.
- Ensuring prompt and accurate communication with clients and internal teams.
- Writing newsletters on company-wide updates.
- Identifying target audiences to support the growth of our email lists.
- Creating email databases and segmentation for lead generation.
- Purging non-deliverable email addresses and opt-outs.
- Reviewing former campaigns to determine areas of improvement and strength.
- Analyzing campaign performance and suggesting improvements.
- Sharing statistical analysis and reports with management.
- Conducting market research to better comprehend prevailing consumer behaviors.
Email Marketing Specialist Requirements
- Hands on experience with HTML and content management systems
- Proven experience to create high impact campaigns with responsive email design
- Prior database management experience, preferably in a similar role.
- Familiarity with pertinent automation and performance evaluation software.
- Excellent project management skills specific to marketing.
- Outstanding copywriting and copyediting abilities.
- Ability to harness collaboration to produce well-crafted content.

- Familiarity with basic Office software (Gmail/Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Familiarity with setting up and maintaining drip marketing campaigns
- Excellent project management and task organization skills
- Strong collaborator, detail-oriented and self-driven
- Strong verbal and written communication
- An ability to work under tight deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in: Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or 1+ year of work experience in an email marketing role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication, with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in PC or desktop interfaces (Windows & Google Chrome).
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (Canva) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
