Position: Relationship Manager
Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)
Pay: $45,000/year + Uncapped commission

Relationship Manager to join a growing and dynamic team!
Job Description
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to increase revenue through new memberships, membership upgrades, first-year renewals, and event sponsorships.
- Independently generate and maintain a qualified sales pipeline through prospecting, cold calling, referrals, networking, digital platforms, events, inbound inquiries, and member and staff leads.
- Identify opportunities to upgrade existing members by assessing their business goals and recommending membership levels that provide greater value, visibility, access, and engagement.
- Proactively manage assigned member renewals, including outreach to past-due accounts as assigned.
- Sell event sponsorships by identifying qualified prospects, developing customized proposals, presenting partnership opportunities, negotiating terms, and achieving established revenue goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, members, investors, and sponsors by serving as a trusted resource and providing timely, solutions-focused support.
- Conduct persuasive sales presentations for individuals, executive teams, and groups, clearly communicating our client's value proposition, membership benefits, sponsorship opportunities, and community impact.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and needs assessment through objection handling, negotiation, closing, invoicing, payment collection, onboarding, renewal, and account growth.
- Complete all required sales documentation accurately, including membership and sponsorship agreements, invoices, payment information, contact records, and internal sales forms.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all prospecting, sales, renewal, and sponsorship activity in the CRM.
- Record all appointments and sales-related activities in Outlook and maintain an organized follow-up schedule.
- Respond to prospect, member, and sponsor inquiries within one business day.
- Meet or exceed established weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and activity goals.
- Consistent outbound engagement through phone, email, networking, and social platforms, primarily LinkedIn.
- Monitor membership and sponsorship markets, competitive factors, prospective industries, and regional business trends to identify new revenue opportunities.
- Deliver exceptional service throughout the member and sponsor lifecycle to increase satisfaction, engagement, retention, referrals, and long-term revenue.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure a seamless transition from sales to onboarding and effective fulfillment of membership and sponsorship benefits.
- Attend programs and member-engagement activities.
- Provide regular pipeline, activity, forecast, retention, and revenue reports to the Senior Vice President of Revenue Development.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor and as needed by the team.
Position Requirements
- Associate’s degree.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, and presentation.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Excellent customer relationship skills.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Aptitude for teamwork.
- Strong goal orientation.
- Computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams, Zoom, project management software, and relational database systems.
- Ability to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally to lift or move objects.
Preferred Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working with customer relationship management software (CRM) and/or fundraising software (such as Raiser’s Edge).
- Previous fundraising experience in a non-profit or university setting.
- Experience using Microsoft Teams and/or project management software.
- Experience working with a non-profit or member association or in customer relationship management.
- Experience creating leadership development content for events/programs in cooperation with volunteers.
- Experience managing volunteer committees and task forces.
