We are scaling our platform nationwide and seeking a dynamic, data-driven, and creative Head of Marketing to lead our growth efforts.
Position Overview
The Head of Marketing will own and execute strategies across podcasting, social media, content, SEO, website management, product marketing, and field marketing. This role will be instrumental in building USLege’s brand, expanding its audience, and driving engagement as we scale to all 50 states.
The ideal candidate is an expert in digital marketing, analytics, and strategic growth, with a proven ability to scale brands, optimize platforms, and create a cohesive multi-channel marketing strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Podcast Growth & Vision Planning
- Messaging & Branding: Ensure clear, consistent, and impactful podcast messaging across Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, and other platforms.
- SEO Optimization: Optimize podcast titles, descriptions, and content for maximum searchability and engagement.
- Growth Analytics: Track followers, new subscribers, views, and audience engagement across all podcast platforms.
- Scaling Strategy: Develop and execute a plan to expand the podcast's reach across all 50 states.
- Vision Planning: Work closely with founders and content creators to define and execute the podcast’s long-term strategy.
2. Social Media Management & Growth
- Cohesive Messaging: Create and maintain a consistent brand voice across Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter (X), and Facebook as the company scales nationally.
- Content Strategy: Develop and implement data-driven social media campaigns aligned with USLege’s mission.
- Analytics & Optimization: Use social media analytics tools to track performance, engagement, audience growth, and ROI.
- Scaling Plan: Develop and execute a state-by-state social media expansion strategy.
- Growth Metrics Ownership: Drive follower and engagement growth across all social media platforms.
3. News Partnerships & Content Expansion
- Partnership Development: Build and maintain relationships with news partners, writers, contributors, and key stakeholders to expand reach and ensure objective, nonpartisan messaging.
- Team Leadership: Grow and manage the news team, overseeing content creation and editorial strategy.
- Market Expansion: Identify smaller media businesses for acquisition to scale our news platform to new states.
- Newsletter Strategy:
- Oversee the Beehive Newsletter, ensuring high-quality content, engagement, and growth.
- Track newsletter performance:
- Subscriber growth
- Newsletter views
- Weekly ad revenue
- Develop a statewide expansion plan for the newsletter.
4. Website, SEO, & Marketing Funnel
- Website Management: Oversee website updates, design contractors, and branding consistency.
- Google Analytics Expertise: Analyze website traffic, user demographics, behavior, and conversion data to optimize performance.
- SEO Strategy: Implement SEO best practices across all marketing channels to increase visibility and engagement.
- Founder-Led Content: Guide founders in developing impactful thought leadership and brand-aligned content.
- Lead Generation & Marketing Funnel:
- Develop and execute a marketing funnel to drive user acquisition and lead generation.
- Product Marketing: Create and distribute marketing content, product positioning, and scaling strategies.
- Field Marketing Strategy: Build a state-by-state marketing framework for on-the-ground engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of marketing experience with a focus on digital platforms, social media, content strategy, and analytics.
- Proven track record of growing podcasts, social media followings, and newsletters.
- Deep expertise in Google Analytics, SEO, and social media analytics tools.
- Strong project management and leadership skills, with the ability to delegate and execute across multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A nonpartisan, strategic thinker with experience in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.
- Experience scaling marketing efforts across multiple regions or states is a plus.
