As a Sr. Database Engineer I, you’ll design, develop, and maintain enterprise database systems that support large-scale logistics and sustainment operations. You’ll work with Oracle technologies to optimize performance, support system changes, and ensure data integrity across development and production environments with the goal to make an impact across the federal government.

What you’ll do:
- Design, develop, and maintain database structures to support new functionality and system enhancements for GCSS-MC.
- Collaborate with systems engineers and developers to implement database changes aligned with functional and technical requirements.
- Conduct performance tuning, space management, and optimization of database queries and stored procedures.
- Support validation testing, including SIT and GAT, by preparing test data, validating results, and resolving data-related issues.
- Monitor database health, respond to alerts, and perform root cause analysis for incidents and performance anomalies.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the development of scalable, secure, and compliant database solutions.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 4–6 years of experience in database engineering, development, or administration.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining relational databases in support of enterprise applications.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance-optimized functions.
- Familiarity with Oracle Database technologies, including schema design, indexing strategies, and space management.
- Experience supporting system integration, data flow analysis, and database tuning in secure environments.
- Ability to support data validation, backup/recovery, and configuration changes in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
